Introduction

Samsung provides convenient installation methods useful for administrators. Using Easy Deployment Manager, administrators can remotely install device drivers to multiple client computers. Administrators can also make their own installation packages for distribution. Installation packages can consist of applications (e.g., SmartPanel) and/or driver configuration files. These installation packages are packaged as MSI files or self-extracting EXE files prior to distribution (using Package Customization) or during remote installation (using Remote Installation or AD Deployment).
Layout Overview This section describes the layout and button functionalities of the main screen.

Package Customization
3.
Overview The Package Customization function allows administrators to create customized installation packages with the desired installation and driver settings. Drivers and/or applications to be installed, assigned printers, sharing options, etc can all be defined in the installation packages. The administrator can disable/enable or change default values for driver settings according to the company’s policy.
Creating an Installation Package The created installation package can be distributed as a single self-extraction EXE package to clients through file servers or special distribution servers, or as an MSI file. Follow these steps to create an installation package: 1. Click on Package Customization.
The “Create or modify software package” window opens. 2. Select the “Create” radio button and search for applications/drivers to include in the package. The administrator should specify the root folder of the Samsung printer's product CD or driver folder that includes the driver files; otherwise, an error message may be received. You should select “Modify” to modify a package such as the Samsung Universal Print Driver that can be downloaded from the web site.
3. Click on Next. If you need to make changes to previous selections, click on Back.
