Modular Converter Solutions 19”, 3U Sub-racks for Plug-in DC–DC Converter Modules MCS6, 6 converter sub-rack MCS3, 3 converter sub-rack, featuring a Digital Monitor Panel Features 19” sub-rack Modular 3U/6U and expandable option Facilitates cost-effective n+1 deployment Suits plug-in d.c.-d.c. converter modules Compatible with 3U/4U distribution sub-racks for input and output distribution (protection and/or isolation) The back-plane may be separated into (6) individual (and isolated) converter sections. This allows a single sub-rack to accommodate different polarity, or voltage, converters Converter and back-plane connectors are keyed to prevent plug-in of incompatible converters Converters are fully isolated input to output Wide range of converter modules available Provision for accessories module (metering, alarms) Powerware Modular Converter Solutions are the ideal solution for low to medium power d.c. to d.c. conversion applications that require compact, efficient and flexible d.c. power solutions. These 19” rack mount sub-racks are available in two basic configurations. The MCS6 is a 6 converter bay sub-rack. It can be used with additional sub-racks to increase the output power. The MCS3 is a 3 converter bay sub-rack that features a 6 way miniature circuit breaker (MCB) cage The back-plane may be separated into individual converter sections to allow the sub-rack to accommodate different polarity or voltage rated converters in the same sub-rack (eg 48V/12V and 48V/12V, or 48V/-24V and 48V/+24V). Digital and analogue metering options are available. In the MCS6 the meter panel will take up a converter position. In the MCS3 the meter panel will be on the right hand side of the MCB cage.
