Introduction The EC-11D dimmer is a multifunction device controlling the brightness of the LED lights which are connected to it. Traditional incandescent light bulbs can also be operated by the device if their power and supply voltage comply with the parameters of the dimmer. The device is constructed around a specialised microprocessor, thanks to which the dimmer can offer a wealth of possibilities, despite its small size. In addition, the installer can programme the majority of the operational parameters independently and adapt EC-11D to his own requirements. The PCB board of the device has two control buttons and one programming button. There are also three outputs with load capacity of 2A each, with programmable operating characteristics and two inputs (where the operating methods are programmable as well) which are used to connect additional push-buttons, relay contacts or open collector outputs from the control system. To aid the programming of the device and reading of the values selected previously, there are three LED diodes signalling the operation mode and the parameters which are being programmed. The unit is equipped with terminal blocks with screws that make the connections easier and render specialist tools unnecessary.
Operation Due to significant differences in the operation of the device in relation to the programmed modes and options, only basic guidelines are presented here, while a detailed description of the operational features can be found in the table depicting the programming methods for the EC-11D. Outputs 1, 2 and 3 provide ground during operation in the form of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) impulses with frequency of 350 Hz. The power supply positive voltage is permanently connected to the receiver. The Pulse Width Modulation enables a simple, effective and linear brightness control of practically every connected LED light source (except devices with built-in power inverters or voltage regulators). The high frequency of the Pulse Width Modulation prevents the light from having a flashing effect which can be seen by people and registered by film or digital cameras. Depending on the programmed output options, they can operate in a few different ways (for example in parallel or independently). The maximum load capacity for each of the outputs is 2A, which means that there can be quite a large number of LED light sources connected to each output. The outputs can be connected in parallel (if the selected programming method allows it) and as a result the maximum load capacity that can be connected to the dimmer is tripled. In the event that the power of the LED light sources one want to connect is higher than the output load capacity, we recommend using one or more EPM-153 amplifiers, which are manufactured by Enterius. Inputs A and B react to the connected ground in ways which are dependent on the programmed parameters. The inputs can have any push-button type switches connected (monostable switches which come back to their original position after they are released), ones which will work identically as buttons A and B which can be found on the PCB. The buttons should be connected between the common (-) and input A or B. Output (+) on the terminal blocks from the input side is only used to connect expansion modules (such as rECeptor) and should be not used otherwise. We recommend using high quality buttons, ones which can ensure stable connection after they are pressed. Buttons with low contact quality may cause multiple vibrations when pressed once, which can be interpreted incorrectly by the dimmer, and although the dimmer has a system which eliminates any possible contact vibrations; it may not always react in the most extreme instances. 3
With distances greater than 5-10 metres, twisted pair cables should be used to connect buttons. It will greatly reduce any possible interruptions. The EC-11D dimmer has two pins (jumper) described as 1-10V. These pins are not used in the EC11D and they cannot be connected or cannot have any voltages or signals connected to them, as this can cause permanent damage to the device and result in warranty loss!

Programming 1. In order to enter the programming mode, the PRG button should be pressed and held for at least 2 seconds. The entry into the programming mode will be signalled by 3 quick flashes of the LED diodes (and their respective outputs), followed by lit diodes pointing to the correct set of options (see table). Their quick flashes followed by an uninterrupted diode light, signal a number of the currently chosen option (for example two quick flashes and an uninterrupted diode light show option number 2). The zero number option (if it occurs) is signalled by an uninterrupted diode light. 2. In order to change the set of options to a next one, the PRG button needs to be pressed for less than 2 seconds. The system will go onto the next set of options and in the case of the last set, it will return to the first one. 3. In order to decrease or increase the number of the currently chosen option (see table), buttons A or B need to be appropriately chosen and pressed for a short period of time. 4. Exiting from the programming mode happens automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity or if the PRG button is pressed and held for at least 2 seconds. In both instances, the exit from the programming mode will be signalled by 3 quick flashes of all 3 LED diodes. The unit then returns to its normal operating mode. In some instances, some sets of options may not be available. The number of the set is then still signalled by an appropriate LED diode, however, its quick flashing informs that options in this set are unavailable.

1 ☐
Controlling via any button
Pressing quickly any button alternately switches on and then switches off the dimmer, pressing and holding any button results in a fluid change of the brightness level up and down (with a 1 second stop at the border values), releasing stops the outputs on the currently chosen level of brightness.
2
Controlling via two buttons
Pressing quickly button B sets the dimmer on the brightness level according to option 3. Pressing and holding the button brightens up the outputs. Pressing quickly button A turns off the device. Pressing and holding the button darkens the outputs.
3
External control
Mode used to execute control from alarm systems, automatics, etc. Sending ground to the input A will turn on the dimmer. The device will be turned on for as long as ground is present at the A input. If at this time ground is sent to button B, it will result in a fluid change of the brightness level up and down (like in option 1). Disconnecting ground from input B will cause the device to hold the current brightness level. Disconnecting ground from input A switches off the outputs.
4
Controlling via any button with no brightness regulation
peration as described in option 1, however, there is no possibility to control the brightness level. The dimmer will always turn on with 100% brightness. Choosing this option always turns off set 3.
5
Controlling via two buttons with no brightness regulation
Pressing quickly button B turns on the dimmer with 100% brightness, pressing quickly button A turns off the dimmer. Choosing this option always turns off set 3.
0
Smooth on/off turned off
The device turns on and turns off the outputs nearly immediately (approx. 0.2 s), the diode signalling the number of the set of options lights up permanently.

1 ☐
Always remembers the set brightness
The device, after it is turned off and then on again, turns on with the previously set brightness. The brightness is remembered even after the power supply is disconnected.
☑☑☐
2
Does not remember the previously set brightness, always turns on with maximum brightness.
(the set of options is not available after 1_4 or 1_5 is chosen)
No memory, turns on with maximum brightness
3
No memory, turns on with minimum brightness
Does not remember the previously set brightness, always turns on with minimum brightness.
4
Volatile memory
Remembers the previously set brightness until the power supply is disconnected. After it is disconnected and then connected again, the memory is set to provide 100% brightness.
1 ☐
Parallel outputs
All 3 outputs operate identically (they can be connected in parallel to increase the load capacity of the dimmer).
☐☐☑
2
(when the option 2_0 is turned on, the outputs in the options 2, 3 and 4 will turn on/off in 0.5 s interval)
Sequential operation 1-2-3
The outputs turn on and turn off in a sequence, which means that the next output only starts to smoothly turn on after the previous one got fully bright. The sequence is always 1-2-3
3
Sequential operation 1-2-3, 3-2-1
As in option 1, but the turn off order is reverse to the turn on order, so the turn on operates as 1-2-3 and the turn of as 3-2-1.
4
The order of the sequences dependant on the input
The option is only active for setting 1_1 or 1_4 Pressing A button turns on/off all the outputs in the order 1-2-3/3-2-1. Pressing B button turns on/off all the outputs in the order 3-2-1/1-2-3.

The device can also be mounted with the use of screws; however, it is important to use spacing sleeves preventing the contact of the electrical elements with the surface. We also offer special P-11 assembly ties for the bus bar TH-35 (often referred to as TS-35), which allow the device to be installed in switchboards and electrical switching stations. The device should be installed inside, but if it is required to be installed outside, or in conditions of increased humidity, there should be additional casing used with a protection level of IP54 minimum.
