Low Voltage Surge Protection Device The Eclipse MD series of hybrid TVSS devices are designed with silicone avalanche diodes (SAD) and metal oxide varistors (MOV) to protect sensitive electronic equipment by clamping over-voltage energy pulses and discharging them to ground. How it works: In most instances the SAD does the majority of the work. The SAD clamps closer to the “working” voltage to provide the highest level of protection of the device. The SAD does not degrade until the diode exceeds its rated value. The SAD can manage daily voltage pulses over and over with no degrade of component. MOV can withstand greater peak energy. When the energy exceeds the capacity of the SAD the MOV provides protection against larger and more sustained energy pulses. MOVs are susceptible to degrade every time they clamp. . NFPA

Transient Voltage surge protection devices will be UL 497A or B listed device Eclips TMD or TMDP series. each unit is The device will employ a single ground bus with single point of ground termination and a 12AWG green ground strap with lug ring conector. All electronics are encased in a ABS polycarbonate type AF-312 enclosure that protects the electronics. Each device will have pluggable terminal connectors rated from 12-26 AWG. Each device is scalable and interlock with other like devices. Mounting option are direct screw in, snap track or standard din rail mounting.
