See the following documents for installation of other EcoView system components: • EcoView 8 DO Module Installation and Commissioning (129-565) • EcoView Thermostat Installation Instructions (129-564 or 129-566) • EcoView Multi-phase Meter Installation Instructions (129-563) Expected Installation Time 60 minutes Prerequisites • 100Base-T Ethernet connection is available. • EcoView 8 DO Module and EcoView Thermostat schedules are designed and ready to be entered into EcoView Web. • Product Description Ethernet port 80 is open or access to port 80 is available through a proxy server. • The EcoView Touchscreen is a full-color 7-inch tactile display device, master controller and Internet gateway built into a single wall-mounted unit. A single CAT5 cable supplies both power and data. An EcoView ZigBee Repeater (Digi Router) (P/N 97-003) is available in case network communication is troublesome because a ZigBee device is out-of-range. • If multiple EcoView Touchscreens are being used at the site, do the following to close all other ZigBee networks that are already installed: a. Remove the front bezel of each installed EcoView Touchscreen. Product Number 60-009 EcoView Touchscreen controller/gateway graphical user interface with ZigBee. Includes power transformer with 3-prong grounded cord, shielded CAT5 cable, and ferrite. b. Press and hold the CONFIG button for one second to display the Configuration screen. (See Figure 4.) Optional Product c. 97-003 d. Press the Advanced tab. EcoView ZigBee Repeater, plugs into 115-120V, 60 Hz 3-prong grounded outlet. Caution Notations CAUTION: Equipment damage or loss of data may occur if you do not follow the procedures as specified. Required Tools and Materials • Flat-blade screwdriver (1/8-inch blade width). • Drywall saw or appropriate tool for cutting drywall. • Drywall anchors or molly bolts. • Wire strippers. • One CAT5 cable which is long enough to run between the EcoView Touchscreen mounting location and the DSL/cable modem or router. Item Number 129-568, Rev. BA Press the DEVICE NETWORK icon. e. If the Network Status is Open, on the right side of the screen, press the Open button to toggle the network to closed. The button text changes to Closed. (See Figure 5.) f. Press OK to clear the window. Depending on the type of installation, other prerequisites may have to be completed. CAUTION: Always wear an electro-static discharge (ESD) wrist strap and discharge accumulated static before touching field panel components. Page 1 of 9 Document No. 129-568 Installation Instructions February 28, 2014 3. Clamp the ferrite on the shielded CAT5 cable, within four inches of the RJ-45 connector, and plug this end into the ETHERNET connector on the back of the EcoView Touchscreen. (See Figure 2.)  Ensure the connector clicks securely in place. NOTE: The ferrite clamp is used to reduce radiated emissions. 4. Route the modem CAT5 cable from the DSL/cable modem or router to the EcoView Touchscreen location.  Route the modem CAT5 cable above the drop ceiling or inside the wall so that it is hidden as much as possible. Figure 1: EcoView Touchscreen Dimensions. 5. Remove the front bezel of the EcoView Touchscreen by pulling out along the bottom edge. Installation NOTE: For purposes of this installation instruction, the shielded CAT5 cable provided with the EcoView Touchscreen is referred to as the shielded CAT5 cable. (Note the metal-clad RJ-45 connectors.) The CAT5 cable that runs between the Power Over Ethernet (PoE) Injector and the DSL/cable modem or router is referred to the modem CAT5 cable.  The four shrouded mounting holes are now visible. (See 1 in Figure 3.) CAUTION: Do not touch any components on the circuit board. 6. Using either molly bolts or drywall anchors, attach the EcoView Touchscreen to the wall. 7. Do not replace the EcoView Touchscreen front bezel at this time. The EcoView Touchscreen may be installed on any wall. Typically, it is located in or just outside the manager’s office. 1. Select a mounting location for the EcoView Touchscreen where it will be easily-accessible and where wire can be easily routed to the DSL/cable modem or router. 2. Using a drywall saw or another appropriate tool, cut a hole in the mounting location for routing wiring.  If the EcoView Touchscreen is to be flushmounted, cut a 7-1/4” wide × 4-1/2” high hole.  If a flush-mount is not required, cut a 3” × 3” hole.
