They integrate functions of sequencer and drive power stages control and protection against over-current, over /under-voltage and over-temperature. Interfaced to the standard external controls (Step, Direction) or to Synchronous / Asynchronous serial interface the ASICs ensure the highest motor control performance in terms of rotation smoothness. They can execute Micro-stepping movements at resolution of up to 1/128 step with sinusoidal envelope (Maximum step frequency: 2,56 MHz). Besides they feature a motor rotation smoothing tuning functionality to optimize the motor performance in every application in terms of:  high speed and torque at shaft  low vibrations  low resonances  low mechanical noise  low heating of the motor  simplicity of the drive power stages hardware control The interface to the drive power stages is designed to offer maximum compatibility with the most popular integrated circuits for the driving of MOSFET and IGBT gates, also being compatible with monolithic integrated circuits. Thanks to the ASICs built in communication field bus (RS232, SPI, I²C), the user can set step angle and phase current of the motor, define type of movement and activate the automatic current reduction at motor standstill and manage digital I/Os, analogue input, and other operations of the drive.
