eFolio Site Management Guide

You will receive an email with the website address to start personalizing your eFolio. Go to your administration site to start personalizing your site. Enter your username and password and click login. This is the first page you will see. Site Management – Set a design, view statistics, or search your eFolio
Help – Click here for tips on managing your eFolio.
Live Site – Click here to view your live site. Content Tools – This is where you will add materials to your eFolio.
First, design your Welcome page by clicking “Home”, then click on “Welcome”.
Type in your Welcome text in the box; you can format the text by using the formatting buttons. Click “Finished” at the bottom when you are done.
To add a picture, music or video, click here.

To add a picture, music file, or video, click on the menu on the left side of the screen. Then click “Browse” to select your file.
This will open another window to select your image/music/video file. Find your file on disk by selecting clicking on the drop down menu, then click “Open”.
Then click the “Upload” button. You will also have the option to add a caption to your picture. Once you are finished with your picture and caption, click “Apply”. Your Welcome page is an excellent place to insert a copy of your Resume or another document about yourself. Click on “Document” on the left-hand side of the screen. Follow the same directions to upload your resume to your webpage. This will put a link into your Welcome page (see below). Ask your teacher for templates or help with getting your resume ready.

After you have previewed your site, click on the “Return to Admin Mode” to get back to the administration site. Then, click the “Content Tools” button on the top of your screen to move on to the next category - Activities.

Click on “Activities” and then click on “Activities” again. Next, type in your activity name including clubs, volunteer groups, sports, hobbies and others in the box. You can add a picture by clicking on “Image” on the left hand side of the screen. Follow the same instructions above to add an image or other file. Once you are done, click the green “Finished” button at the bottom of your screen. To see your live page, click the “Live Site” button at the top, right corner of the screen.
Once you are done and have saved your changes by clicking “Finished”, click on the “Content Tools” button at the top of your screen to return to the main menu. Click on “Education” to continue. Then, click on “Add Item”. Items in your eFolio are a good tool to separate and sort several different educational experiences.

Now, type your first educational experience and any courses of interest, or a brief description of what you learned. When you are done, click the green “Finished” button at the bottom of the screen. The Sort Order field determines which item will show at the top of your page. It can be assigned a number from 1-100. The lower the number, the higher the item is on the screen. For example, leave your High School education information with a sort order of 50, and then assign a sort order of 60 to your college or higher education information.

Now, click “Add Item” again, and fill out another educational experience. Be sure to include all diplomas, certificates and degrees. Set the Sort Position to 60. When finished, click on “Content Tools” at the top of the screen to move on. To preview your site, click “Live Site” at the top of the screen. Now that you have updated your Welcome page, Activities page and Education page, continue with any other pages you want to add.
Events – Use the calendar feature to make a schedule of upcoming event for example, graduation dates, volunteer events, news events and more. Click “Finished” when you are done.
Honors and Awards Fill out this section with your honors and awards, for example, Deans List, GPA, project awards or anything else you have been recognized for.

Continue through the “Content Tools” page, adding information to personalize your eFolio. You can turn off sections that do not apply to you. Once you have updated all your content, you can choose a design for your eFolio. Click on “Site Management” at the top of the screen, and then click on “Design Center”.
There are 4 pages of designs, be sure to look at all the pages before picking the design you like best.
Some designs have multiple color schemes; preview the different colors by clicking on the color swatches.
When you find a design you like, click “Choose this one!”
Type in your information on the next screen and click “Finished” when done.

You can also limit access to your eFolio. Changing security access is a two step process. First, select the section you would like to restrict access. Go to “Content Tools” and click on the section. Then click on “Configure Section”.
Change the “Section Access” to “Private”. Then, click “Finished” at the bottom of the screen. Then click on “Security” at the top of the page.
Click on “Add New Item” and set a username and password; your Password and Verify Password must be the same. In this example, we will use “guest.” Click on the “Finished” button when you are done.

Then, click on “permissions” next to Guest.
Click on the checkbox to “view” the Education screen and click “Save” when you are done. Now your guest will have access to view the section that you marked as Private.
