Elite Optima Grease drive rod and Guide Wheels Instructions: For questions, clarifications or assistance call 800-592-0548 x1 Tools required One # 2 Phillips screwdriver, Heavy trailer ball or bearing grease (med-high heat – no odor), white lithium grease. BEFORE BEGINNING, turn the power switch on the chair off and unplug the power cord. Allow the chair to sit for 10 minutes before proceeding. STEP 1 Lay the back of the chair down over the seat of the chair. Reach under the back of the chair with your right hand…..about 6” in from the left side and about 4” in from the back cover. Locate the latch mechanism with a finger and pull latch out to release. CAUTION, when the latch is release it will be free weight and will pivot. Hold the top of the chair and lay forward gently. Hold onto the seat back until it is firmly lying on the seat. DO NOT ALLOW chair back to ‘drop’ unsupported onto the seat. Step 2 Once the back of the chair is folded down and you are ready to begin, locate the six screws holding the back cover on. Disconnect the air hose (indicated by arrow in photo below). Using your # 2 Phillips screw driver remove the six screws. Lift the back cover up and off and set aside. Step 3 Locate the threaded drive rod located in the back going from top to bottom of backrest. Apply the heavy trailer ball or bearing grease in a few spots on the threaded rod below the massage mechanism. Put the amount you would apply to your toothbrush to your finger and work into the threads in 3 to 4 spots Step 4 Apply the white lithium grease to the side guide wheels and rails. You will apply to the rails below the lower wheels down the side channel where the wheels travel when moving up and down the back. Step 5 Put back cover back on. Step 6 Move the massage mechanism to the lowest position by pressing and holding the down roller position button on the remote. Step 7 Remove the back cover. Step 8 Apply the trailer ball grease on the rod above the massage mechanism and the while lithium grease in the upper portions of the guide rails as per instructions in steps 3 and 4. Step 9 Put back cover back on. If after reassembly, and during the final 5-minute test, you detect anything that seems inconsistent with normal operation of the chair, call Elite Massage Chairs Customer Support at 800-582-0548 x1 for immediate assistance.
