Device Specifics EM316FM 100BaseFX Multimode to 100BaseFX Singlemode converter The EM316FM converter extends the distance of your LAN by converting a 100BaseFX multimode signal into an 100BaseFX singlemode signal, enabling extended transmission distances. A variety of optics are available to precisely fit your transmission requirements. To install this module, attach the appropriate cables. No other configuration is necessary. LEDs • PWR/NMS: illuminates when unit is powered, flashes when loopback is enabled by management is active • SD: illuminates when signal is detected EM316FM

Observe proper ESD precautions before continuing Remove the blank panel from the NC316BU-16 or NC316BU-4-unit Align the edges of the EM316 module to the rail inside the chassis, see pictures below Insert the module into the unit Secure the module to the unit, using the screw on the front panel of the module JP2 is for factory use only
