An extension cable is also supplied if necessary. 7 EN WiFi Outdoor Mega-pixel HD IP camera C - installation 1 - INSTALLING THE CAMERA • Mount the cameras using screws and plugs adapted to the type of support (the screws and plugs supplied are suitable for solid walls). • Make sure the camera is properly secured to prevent it from falling. 2 - CONNECTING THE CAMERA • Connect the network cable to a modem/router. In most cases, the camera is immediately detected by the modem/router, which grants it access to the Internet. After a few seconds, the indicator led at the front of the camera should stay on continuous red, indicating that the Internet connection has been successfully established. The blue LED should come on (flashing or constant). Note: a wired connection is compulsory when starting up, even if you wish to use a wifi connection later. EN 8 WiFi Outdoor Mega-pixel HD IP camera C - installation 3 - memory card If you want, a microSD or microSDHC format memory card can be inserted into the camera to store video clips in the camera. 9 EN WiFi Outdoor Mega-pixel HD IP camera D - setup 1 - OVERVIEW The Thomson Wifi Mega-pixel IP camera is a video surveillance camera on computer or smart phone, extremely easy to install and configure. Its highresolution optical sensors help obtain a sharp and detailed image in all circumstances, at any time of the day or night. Very easy to install with its 360° adjustable mount (fastening screws supplied), the camera can be free standing or mounted onto the wall, ceiling etc. It is equipped with an integrated microphone, an indicator light (possibility of deactivating this light for less conspicuous use) and a loudspeaker which can issue an audible alert at your request or as scheduled. Each camera has its own unique ID and password (supplied), essential for displaying a camera (no IP address or other complex configuration). Facilitates the viewing of up to 36 IP cameras simultaneously from a PC connected to the Internet. Possibility of a doing a live screenshot (in jpg format) of the image of a camera. Possibility of launching a live recording (on the hard drive of the PC where the software is launched) and programming weekly, occasional recordings etc. Possibility of programming recordings by motion detection. The software supplied is equipped with a special integrated player for replaying the videos recorded. To open the configuration page, launch CamView, then right click on the camera ID which appears in the "Recherche Auto" (Auto Search) area: Cameras detected on the local network In the pop-up menu, select "Configuration web" (Web configuration). The default internet browser is launched and a login window opens: 2 - INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE ON THE COMPUTER Insert the installation CD supplied in a drive (only Windows is currently supported). Launch the CamView installation (CamViewInstaller-xxx.exe file on the CD, where xxx is the software version). Once the installation has been completed, two icons appear on the desktop: CamView (main programme) and CamPlay (to play and use the camera recordings). 3 - ACCESS TO CAMERA CONFIGURATION The configuration of the software integrated into the camera itself is easily accessible from a computer located within the same local network. This configuration can only be executed on a web browser capable of using ActiveX controls (typically: Internet Explorer). EN 10 The default user name is "admin". Langue (Language): helps select the display language. 4.1 - Réseau (Network) Menu which configuration to adopt. Once the settings have been modified, click on "Sauvegarder et appliquer" (Save and apply) to validate the configuration entered. n 4.1.2 - Sécurité Wi-Fi (Wifi security) In this menu, you can configure access to the wireless network. • Click on "Activer WiFi" (Activate WiFi) to activate the wireless connection. • Enter the name of the desired network in the SSID field. • On the "Mode de sécurité" (Security mode) line, select the type of key used: WEP or WPA. • Select the encryption used and enter the key. You can launch a test of the parameters entered by clicking on the "Test Wi-Fi" (Wifi Test) button. The test takes approximately 15s. The wired network cable must stay connected for the entire duration of the test. You can also click on "Scan wifi" (Wifi scan) to reveal the name of the networks within range of the camera. To activate and use the Wifi connection established, disconnect the network cable. Important note: Even if the parameters entered are valid and the Wifi connection has been established, the wired connection is used as long as a cable is connected to the network outlet at the back of the camera. n 4.1.3 - Avancé (Advanced) It is possible to activate the support of the PPPoE protocol (Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet) to obtain an IP address. Once the settings have been modified, click on "Sauvegarder et appliquer" (Save and apply) to validate the configuration entered. 4.2 - Vidéo (Video) Menu n 4.2.1 - Afficher (Display) The camera's current image can be directly displayed on this page. n 4.1.1 - Réseau (Network) In this menu, you can manually configure the camera's wired network parameters. By default, the camera asks the modem/router 11 EN WiFi Outdoor Mega-pixel HD IP camera D - configuration n 4.2.2 - Param vidéo (Video param.) "Sauvegarder et appliquer" (Save and apply) to validate the configuration entered. On this page, you can modify the camera's video settings during Internet usage (e.g. via CamView). • To modify the video password requested by CamView during the camera display, enter the desired password in "Mot de passe (vidéo)" (password (video)) (the default password is indicated on the card included in the kit). • To select the maximum camera transmission speed, choose one of the speeds available on the "Débit Internet" (Internet speed) list. The setting to be adopted depends on the upload speed of the Internet connection to which the camera is connected. It is advisable not to exceed the maximum connection speed. • To automatically find the best compromise between image fluidity and quality, select "Compromis auto fluidité/qualité d’image" (Automatic image fluidity/quality compromise). Then decide whether the camera should prioritise image quality or fluidity on the "Priorité" (Priority) list. Alternatively, to adjust everything manually, select "Utiliser les valeurs suivantes" (Use the following values) and set every parameter to the desired value. Once the settings have been modified, click on "Sauvegarder et appliquer" (Save and apply) to validate the configuration entered. On this page, you can choose whether or not to activate the night lighting and select how to activate the night lighting and lens. • Select "Bascule jour/nuit auto" (Auto day/ night mode switch) so that the camera can automatically activate the infrared illumination according to the ambient brightness detected. • Select "Heure prédéfinie" (Preset time) and indicate a time slot to start and stop night lighting at specific times. • Select "Contrôle manuel" (Manual control) to force night lighting on or off. Then select "Jour" (Day) or "Nuit" (Night) to activate/deactivate. • The "Etat actuel" (Current status) line indicates whether the night lighting and lens are currently on. Once the settings have been modified, click on "Sauvegarder et appliquer" (Save and apply) to validate the configuration entered. n 4.2.3 - Vidéo mobile (Mobile video) 4.3 - Programmation (Programming) Menu On this page, you can make all the adjustments concerning use from a compatible mobile phone or a media player (e.g. box integrated into a personal Web page). • To select the maximum camera transmission speed, choose one of the speeds available on the "Débit Internet" (Internet speed) list. The setting to be adopted depends on the upload speed of the Internet connection to which the camera is connected. It is advisable not to exceed the maximum connection speed. • To automatically find the best compromise between image fluidity and quality, select "Compromis auto fluidité/qualité d’image" (Automatic image fluidity/quality compromise). Once the settings have been modified, click on n 4.3.1 - Alerte email/ftp (Email/ftp alert) EN 12 Important note: • The video settings on this page are specifically for use via mobile phone or media player; they are independent from those featured on the "Param vidéo" (Video param.) page (see above). n 4.2.4 - Mode nuit (Night mode) On this page, you can configure email alerts or the online uploading of screenshots to an FTP server. • To activate alerts and recordings following the detection of a motion in the camera's image, select "Mouvement" (Motion). To activate alerts and recordings with the infrared detector, select "PIR". To activate alerts and recordings at a preset time, select "Programmation" (Programming). To deactivate alerts and recordings, click on "Désactivé" (Deactivated). • If alerts are activated, choose the detection sensitivity on the "Sensibilité détection" (Detection sensitivity) list. • If alerts are activated, choose whether the alerts will be issued in the form of emails or online uploading of screenshots to ftp server (or both) by ticking the corresponding option. WiFi Outdoor Mega-pixel HD IP camera D - configuration • To configure email alerts, two addresses are needed: one which will be used by the camera to send alerts (sender's address, e.g. [email protected]), and one which will receive the alerts (recipient's address, e.g. [email protected]). Successively enter the recipient's email address, the sender's smtp server, the sender's smtp port (by default 25), the ID and password corresponding with the sender's address. Example: (Note: X.com and Y.com can be identical) Important note: • Because of unsolicited email filtering, your modem/router may block the alerts issued by the camera. To avoid this possibility, it is advisable to create the sender's address (example in this case: [email protected]) with your Internet service provider and use its smtp server. The smtp server used must imperatively support the authenticated unsecured smtp connection (without SSL/ TLS encryption, which is the case for the vast majority of Internet service providers). Contact your network administrator or Internet service provider for further information. name of the sub-folder in which you wish to save the videos which will be filmed by the camera. Once the settings have been modified, click on "Sauvegarder et appliquer" (Save and apply) to validate the configuration entered. n 4.3.2 - Param NAS (NAS param.) On this page, you can configure the recording on NAS server (Network Attached Storage). • To activate continuous NAS recording, select "Enregistrement continu" (Continuous recording). To activate the recording programmed on NAS, select "Enregistrement programmé" (Programmed recording). To deactivate NAS recording, select "Désactiver" (Deactivate). • You can specify the duration prior to deleting videos, so as not to saturate the hard drive and to keep a specified recording time. • You can specify minimum free space in the NAS and decide how the device will perform in the event of insufficient disk space: "Recyclage enregistrement" (Record recycling) (overwriting of the oldest stored videos) or "Arrêter l’enregistrement" (Stop recording) (recordings are stopped until the user frees up space on the NAS). • Then enter the name of the network or address of the NAS server, the login and corresponding password. • If your hardware is compatible, you can also search for NAS servers accessible on the network, by clicking on "Scan NAS" (NAS Scan). Once the settings have been modified, click on "Sauvegarder et appliquer" (Save and apply) to validate the configuration entered. It is also possible to test the address of the smtp server if it has been indicated, by clicking on "Test serveur smtp" (smtp server test). Note: the smtp server test does not take into account whether or not the TLS or SSL encryption is supported. It is the user's responsibility to check the compatibility of the server used. To configure the online uploading of screenshots to ftp servers, enter the address of the desired ftp server, the ID, password and possibly the 13 EN WiFi Outdoor Mega-pixel HD IP camera D - setup n 4.3.3 - Carte SD (SD card) Recordings on microSD card are configured here. The camera supports microSD and microSDHC cards with a maximum 16GB capacity. For information purposes, one hour of continuous recording represents approximately 150MB. Recordings are segmented into sections of 5mn maximum. • To continuously record on the card, select "Enregistrement continu" (Continuous recording). To specify recording time slots, select "Enreg. programmé" (Programmed recordings). To disable the recording function on memory card, select "Désactiver" (Deactivate). • You can choose what the camera does if the card inserted is full. If you select "Enregistrement cyclique" (Cyclic recording) when the card is full, the oldest videos will be overwritten by more recent ones. By selecting "Arrêter l’enregistrement" (Stop recording), the recordings will be stopped until memory space is made available on the card. • Click on the "Fichiers de la carte SD" (SD card files) button to access the content of the memory card and download or delete the video sequences recorded. Videos are recorded in .crf format and can be played and converted using the CamPlay software supplied. n 4.3.4 - Programmation (Programming) On this page, you can programme the start and stop of ftp and email alerts or NAS server recording. These operations can be programmed on a daily or weekly basis or on a given date. To enable programming, you must initially select initiation by "Programmation" (programming) on the "Alerte email/ftp" (Email/ftp alert), "Param NAS" (NAS param.) and/or "Carte SD" (SD card) configuration pages (see above). Example: You wish to be notified by email of motion 1 2 3 4 5 6 EN 14 1 Active programmed schedules are displayed in this area. Example on the screen: "E" means email notification, "Chaque semaine" (Every week) means weekly programming, "xooooox" indicates the desired days of the week, from Sunday to Monday. The letter "x" indicates that the programmed schedule is deactivated on the corresponding day, while the letter "o" indicates that the programmed schedule is active on the corresponding day. In this instance, "xooooox" means Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays. You can edit or delete programmed schedules by clicking on the corresponding button. 2 Tick the box in this area to activate the email and/or ftp alerts during the time slots defined in the programmed schedules. 3 Tick the box in this area to activate the recording during the time slots defined in the programmed schedules. In this instance, the box is grey as the programmed recording is deactivated on the "Param NAS" (NAS param.) configuration page (see above). 4 Enter the desired recording slots here. In this instance, a daily programme from 8.30am to 6.00pm has been selected. 5 The choice of specific starting and end time/ dates (unique recording) is made in this area. 6 Once the different adjustments have been made, click on this button to add the current programmed schedule to the list of programmes in the memory. detected by the camera from 10.00am to 12.00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. • In the "Alerte email/ftp" (Email/ftp alert) menu, authorise programmed email alerts by ticking "planning" (schedule) in the "déclenchement Email/FTP" (Email/FTP initiation) line. • In the "Programmation" (Programming) menu, activate programmed alerts by ticking "Alerte email/ftp" (Email/ftp alert). • Tick "chaque semaine" (every week), then "Lun" (Mon), "Mar" (Tue) and "Mer" (Wed). • Then select the desired time slot: "10": "00" for the starting time, "12": "00" for the end time. • Then click on the "Ajouter la prog" (Add prog) button to validate and add the programme to those already stored in memory. WiFi Outdoor Mega-pixel HD IP camera D - setup The following line appears on the list: "E Chaque semaine xoooxxx 10:00 – 12:00" (E Every week xoooxxx 10:00 – 12:00). The camera will monitor the image on screen from 10.00am to 12.00pm every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and send an email alert whenever any motion is detected during this period. 4.4 - Admin Menu n 4.4.1 - Identifiant admin (Admin ID) On this page, you can change the ID and password giving access to the camera's configuration. You can also change the number of the port used (by default: 80). This can be useful if there is a web server on the same network as the camera. n 4.4.2 - Led de contrôle (Control LED) On this page, you can activate or disable the two indicator lights at the front of the camera. You can also activate the indicator lights only when connecting the camera and disable them once the link to the Internet has been completed, so as to make the camera less conspicuous. n 4.4.3 - Date/heure (Date/time) Like a computer, the camera queries an ntp server to remain on time. The time zone is selected and the camera automatically updates its time and date. The camera manages the time changes. n 4.4.4 - Mise à jour (Update) 4.5 - Langue (Language) Menu This list helps select the display language of the camera's configuration. Select the desired language from the list to change the current language with immediate effect, without having to restart. 5 - RESTORING FACTORY SETTINGS If the camera's ID/password is lost, the camera can be completely reset by holding down the "Rst" key located underneath the camera for approximately ten seconds. Warning: The camera password (video password featured on the card supplied in the kit) will be replaced by "ipcam". It is up to you to reinstate the correct password by going to the camera configuration. You can choose the firmware file on the computer or on an ftp server. n 4.4.5 - Redémarrage (Restart) The camera can be relaunched remotely and a complete start-up can be activated by clicking on this button. All open connections will be terminated and the camera restarts. This restart corresponds with the interruption and restoration of the camera's power supply; it does not constitute a return to factory settings. 15 EN WiFi Outdoor Mega-pixel HD IP camera E - OPERATION 1 - FUNCTIONALITIES OF THE THOMSON wifi outdoor Mega-pixel IP camera • Possibility of monitoring, recording and taking photos using the software supplied. • Possibility of configuring the camera so that it can alert the user by email or by sending a photo to an ftp server. • Possibility of monitoring the camera from a smart phone connected to the 3G network. • Possibility of recording on NAS server or microSD/microSDHC card (motion detection, infrared detection, manual, programmed). 2 - USE WITH CAMVIEW 1 3 2 4 1 Registered cameras (favourites). 2 Cameras detected on the local network. 3 Viewing area. 4 Selection of the number and arrangements of viewing windows. • Launch the CamView software. • If the computer is connected to the same local network as the camera, the camera ID appears in the "Recherche auto" (Auto search) area on the left of the screen. • To register the camera in the software configuration, click and drag the ID of the desired camera from the "Recherche auto" (Auto search) area to the "Liste de Caméra" (List of Camera) area: EN 16 Completing the list of cameras in the memory: • Gives access the cameras which are not on the same local network (use and view via Internet). • Means not having to enter the camera password for every operation. • To integrate a camera which is not present on the local network into the list, right click the "Liste de Caméra" (List of Camera) heading and select "nouvelle caméra" (new camera) in the pop-up menu. Name the camera (for example after its location), then enter its ID and password. • To choose the number of cameras you wish to display simultaneously on the screen and the window arrangement, click on one of the miniatures at the bottom of the screen. • To display the image of a camera, drag its name or ID from the "Recherche auto" (Auto search) or "Liste de Caméra" (List of camera) areas to the desired window: WiFi Outdoor Mega-pixel HD IP camera E - OPERATION The image of the cameras appears after a few seconds. If the camera sound is activated, you can also hear the sound of the active camera (yellow strip at the top of the window): CamView includes viewing, screenshot and video The configuration window opens: 1 Active window 2 3 4 1 Folder where the videos will be stored 2 Disk space limit 3 What to do if the limit has been reached. In this instance: if there is less than 1GB left, overwrite the oldest videos 4 Folder where the screenshots will the stored recording functions. The computer onto which you have installed the software can therefore record and store video recordings of the image of one or several cameras. Launch the CamView application and go to Options to adjust the recording functions: Click on "Change" to change the storage folder; click on "Open" to view the content of the selected folder. Click on "OK" to validate the modifications. 2.1 - Taking a photo To take a screenshot of one of the cameras displayed on screen, click on the icon at the top right of the window: 2.2 - Recording To launch (or stop) the recording of one of the cameras displayed on screen, click on the corresponding icon at the top right of the window: • The icon turns red during recording. Click on the icon again to stop recording. • The video is saved on the computer's hard drive, in the folder selected for videos. The video is stored in a folder which features the name of the camera and the date on which the screenshot was taken. 17 EN WiFi Outdoor Mega-pixel HD IP camera E - OPERATION 2.3 - Replay a recording To launch the player and replay a recorded video, click on the CamPlay icon from the main CamView window: 3 - USE WITH THE mycameras.thomsonsecurity.eu WEBSITE Once you have installed your hardware, you can create an account free of charge on the http://mycameras.thomsonsecurity.eu website and therefore: • Access the image in real time for any computer connected to the Internet. • Benefit from an online storage area for the screenshots taken. • Configure email or sms alerts when the cameras are initiated. Note: live viewing only works with the "Internet Explorer" browser (other browsers are not currently compatible). To convert a file, right click on it and select "Conversion en .avi" (.avi conversion). The video created is saved in the same folder as the original video. A version of CamView is available for mobile phones. You can currently consult the image of the cameras using a smart phone or Android tablet, an iPhone, iPad or iPod. Symptoms The camera's red LED is flashing/off (no Internet connection). The camera indicates "mauvais mot de passe" (wrong password) when you enter the ID and password supplied. Possible causes The adapter is not connected to the mains/the adapter is not connected to the camera. Check that all power supply cables are correctly connected. The camera is not linked to the Internet. Check that your camera's wired connection or Wifi configuration is correct. The indicator LEDs at the front are deactivated. Activate the LEDs at the front of the camera in the camera's configuration (see section "4.4 Admin. Menu" of this guide). The camera password has been modified. Use the new password. If the password has been lost, reset the camera. The camera has been reset via the "reset" key underneath the camera. Further to a reset, the default password is "ipcam". It is up to you to change it later. The camera transmission speed is incorrectly adjusted. Adjust the camera transmission speed to correspond with your Internet connection (see section "4.2 - Menu Vidéo" (Video menu) of this guide). The camera's quality and fluidity settings are incorrect. Adjust your camera's fluidity and resolution (see section "4.2 Menu Vidéo" (Video Menu) of this guide). Triggering sensitivity is too high. Reduce your camera's triggering sensitivity (see section "4.3.4 - Programmation" (Programming) of this guide). Poor quality or shaky image. Motion detection accidentally triggers recordings.
