Superior business performance is at your fingertips with document output speeds of 45 ppm or 55 ppm in black & white and brilliant high speed, high-impact color at 45 ppm. To facilitate the flow of information throughout your organization, the standard multi-access print controller processes various types of data simultaneously.
The standard PCL®6 and PostScript® 3 emulation print drivers allow the cm4521 and cm5520 to be equally effective in both PC and Mac environments. A multitude of scanning destinations and formats combined with onboard document storage and retrieval make document sharing easier than ever.
Efficiency is taken to the next level with scan speeds up to 70 ipm, standard trayless auto duplexing and on-the-fly toner replenishment. Interruptions are kept to a minimum with an impressive standard paper capacity of 3,650 sheets which can be increased to a maximum of 6,650 sheets with options. The cm4521 and cm5520 utilize an innovative induction heating technology that achieves a warm-up time of just 30 seconds from standby mode. A newly designed auto duplex unit delivers 100% engine speed productivity so that two-sided color output not only saves paper but never slows you down.
You can add the optional single or dual line Super G3 fax kit and begin taking advantage of PC faxing and inbound fax routing to email for maximum efficiency. Powerful finishing options such as multi-position stapling, booklet saddle stitching, half fold, tri-fold and 2 and 3 hole punching, put the power of creation at your fingertips. To bring color printing to the next level, the optional Fiery ® print controller from EFI can be added to the cm4521 and cm5520. An industry standard for demanding color critical environments, the Fiery print system delivers unrivaled color fidelity, powerful color management controls, variable data printing solutions and the graphics arts features that discerning professionals require.

Seamless multifunction performance is already built in with the 867 MHz print/scan controller, 60 GB HDD and 1024 MB of standard RAM, as well as support for the latest network protocols and operating systems.
The large, easy-to-read, full-color, touch screen control panel is intuitive and swivels for easy operation. Integrated interactive help screens give users immediate access to information required to perform the task at hand. Thumbnail previews allow viewing of stored documents prior to printing and programmable shortcut keys for frequently used settings provide effortless operation.
Integrated and easy-to-use software utilities allow both users and administrators powerful tools for document and network management. Administrators can register up to 1,000 account codes by individual or department in order to manage access to the device by function as well as set limits for color use.
Security
Flashing color LEDs provide device status at a glance, even from across the room and remote tools enable you to monitor and perform operations on the device from any computer on the network.
To protect your most vital assets, the cm4521 and cm5520 come equipped with network, SMTP and LDAP authentication. HDD data erase, IP address filtering and SSL encryption are just a few of the additional standard security features. The optional biometric authentication unit recognizes unique physical finger characteristics of each user (shown at right), thereby restricting device access to only authorized individuals.
