All-New Epson Dye-Ink System
Epson’s new solid-state Mirco Piezo™ TFP print head is the key to outstanding image quality. It features micro-fine nozzles that precisely place uniformly shaped ink droplets as small as 3.5 picoliter onto print media without misting or satellites for incredibly sharp, grain-free results. It also offers blazing fast throughput with 360 nozzles per colour, while a special ink-repellent coating reduces the occurrence of clogging.
True to Epson’s exceptional printing quality, the new Dye-Ink system includes Light Cyan and Light Magenta in addition to the four main colours of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black to bring out beautiful hues and smooth colour transitions for scenery, portraits, architecture, graphics or other subject matter in printouts. The printing efficiency of the new Dye-Ink system helps to greatly reduce production costs, while its excellent colour stability means your printouts dry and stabilise quickly in seconds.

Stunning 2880 x 1440 dpi Resolution With a maximum printing resolution of 2880 x 1440 dpi, the Epson Stylus Pro 9860 produces incredibly sharp text and line art, extremely fine colour blends and photographic transitions. This is achieved via Epson’s Variable Sized Drop Technology, which achieves droplets as small as 3.5 picolitres, and Advanced Meniscus Control, which enables the delivery of sharp, precisely placed spherical ink drops.
Smoother Gradation Combined with the 6-colour Dye-Ink system, the new LUT technology produces printouts with noticeably smoother colour gradations and transitions. Grain Reduction By improving the ink combination selection process, the new LUT technology dramatically reduces instances of image grain that is prevalent in skin tones. Colour Consistency With a colour constancy of less than DeltaE 1.0, print colours remain visually consistent when viewed under different lights and lighting conditions.

Epson’s intelligently designed high-capacity ink cartridges ensure reliable ink delivery at all print speeds while dramatically reducing their physical size. The 700ml high-capacity cartridges effectively reduce the frequency of changeovers, thereby improving productivity and reducing operational costs.
The Epson Stylus Pro 9860 is equipped with a four-second automatic rotary-type cutter that supports all media types, including adhesive, cloth and canvas. This helps to streamline the production and post-production processes by accurately and cleanly cutting roll media printouts to size.
Professional Media Support Adding significantly to its versatility is the ability of the Epson Stylus Pro 9860 to handle media up to 1.50 mm in thickness. This enables the production of high quality output that is ready for immediate framing, eliminating the need for mounting. Besides photo paper, the Epson Stylus Pro 9860 can also handle papers with different qualities, including coated paper, acid-free paper, coated polypropylene paper, and more.

GREATER EASE OF USE 2.5 Inch Colour LCD Control Panel Operators enjoy greater ease-of-use with the integrated colour LCD control panel. Featuring one-touch buttons for the most common job commands such as pause/cancel, paper cut, paper feed release/close and ink cartridge holder cover control, the panel greatly simplifies printer operations to allow greater productivity.
