OPTICAL FIBER IDENTIFIERS The OFI 200B optical identifier is designed to detect optical signals without disrupting traffic. During maintenance, installations, rerouting, or restorations it is often necessary to isolate a specific fiber. By simply clamp onto the OFI 200B onto a fiber, the unit will indicate if there is no signal, a 2 kHz tone, or traffic, and show signal direction.

VISUAL FAULT LOCATOR/IDENTIFIER (VFL/VFI) Visible fault locators/identifiers are simple, easy to use instruments designed to locate faults on fiber optic cables. When a break or sharp bend exists in a fiber, the red light from the visible fault identifier will indicate the trouble spot. Used with either multimode or singlemode fiber, the VFL/VFI has many useful applications such as locating troubles in splice trays, patch panels, cable splice points, and tracing fiber runs.
