ES9465 MFP/ES9475 MFP SET-UP GUIDE UIM13002500 Ver00 F 6LJ68354000 Warnings and Cautionary Points • The unpacking and setup procedure shall be done by a qualified service technician. • Be sure to unplug the power cable of the equipment before installing and setting up the product. • Install the equipment near an outlet. Be sure to wire the power cable securely so as to unplug it easily and not to trip over it. • According to the equipment model, these illustrations may differ. • Be sure to secure any optional Large Capacity Feeder (LCF) or Paper Feed Pedestal (PFP) with the adjusters and confirm that the casters are away from the floor. • Be sure to clean the adhering surface of the equipment before a seal or part is attached. • To lift the equipment, be sure to have at least two people use the handles shown in the figure. • Install the equipment making sure that the original glass is level. • Do not remove the tape fixing the platen switch lever until instructed to do so. • Do not touch the contacts on the toner cartridge. • Developer: p/n45643701 (Y), p/n45643702 (M), p/n45643703 (C) INGREDIENT(S): Ceramic materials and wares, chemicals (66402-68-4), Polyester resin, Organic Pigment, Amorphous Silica (7631-86-9) Developer: p/n45643704 (K) INGREDIENT(S): Ceramic materials and wares, chemicals (66402-68-4), Polyester resin, Carbon black (1333-86-4), Amorphous Silica (7631-86-9) - Be careful not to inhale or get developer in your eye. - If you develop a cough after inhaling developer, get medical attention. - If developer gets in your eye, wash it out immediately and get medical attention should irritation persist. © 2014 Oki Data Corporation. NOTE: If printer is to be transported after setup, be sure to return the scanner locks in printer before transport. If not done scanner damage may occur. 3. Install the RADF. See next page. MR-3025 RADF 4. Remove the packing materials. 5. Take out the accessories. 6. Remove the 2 screws and dispose of them. 7. Attach step screws [b]. 8. Install the RADF. 9. Install coin screws [m]. Hand Tighten. 10. Close the RADF. 11. Install [e] and [f]. Hand Tighten. 12. Open RADF. 13. Install alignment pins [g]. 14. Remove platen cover [e] from RADF. 15. Align RADF to position shown. (coin screws). 16. Close RADF to alignment pins. Make sure RADF aligns with pins from step 10. 17. Tighten [e] firmly. 18. Rotate [FF] and adjust the position of the screw holes until they align. 19. Attach [h] and tighten firmly. 20. Open RADF. 21. Tighten [m] firmly. 22. Remove [g] and keep for step 23. 23. Remove [d] and dispose of. 24. Close RADF. 25. Attach [BB] with [aa]. 26. Attach [g] to [BB]. 27. Open RADF. 28. Set [E] platen cover as indicated in the figure. 29. Close the RADF to affix the platen cover. 30. Take off the cover. 31. Cut out and dispose of. 32. Connect the RADF connector to the MFP. 33. Attach the cover. Once printer is operational perform all of the RADF adjustments as necessary. Adjustment procedures for the RADF are included with this document. Printer Setup Continued 34. Attach [A]. 35. Attach [AA]. 36. Open side cover. 37. Remove packing material [J]. 38. Close the cover. 39. Open the cover. 40. While holding [A] as shown remove the waste container [B]. 41. Lower lever [A] then rotate clockwise [B]. 42. Lower the LED lever. For K only! 43. Remove the black developer. While pushing [A] remove in direction [B]. K only! 44. Remove the K drum. While pushing [A] remove in direction [B]. 45. Remove the protective sheet [R] from the cleaning unit [T]. 46. Re-install K drum unit [A] until a click is heard [B]. 47. Re-install K developer unit [A] until a click is heard [B]. 48. Raise the LED lever for black. 49. Rotate [A] and raise the lever [B]. 50. Remove the protective sheets [L] from the K, C, Y, M developers. 51. Attach the waste container [N]. 52. Close the front cover. 53. Attach X. NOTE: Part X is only used when the printer is being mounted to a cabinet/desk. If you are using the KD-1031 or KD-1032 you can skip to step 57. 54. Remove the screws and take off the cover. 55. Close the cover and attach X with [a]. 56. Attach the cover with screws and close the cover. 57. Plug in the printer. Automatic Setup Never turn the power OFF with the main power switch until the automatic setup has been completed. Do not install toner cartridges until directed to do so. 58. Turn the power on with the main power switch. 59. Press [OK] at the authentication screen. 60. When the “start easy setup” screen appears select [OK]. 61. When the status screen appears as below select [OK]. 62. Install the toner cartridges and press [OK]. 63. Shake the toner cartridge. Do not touch the contacts on the cartridge. 64. Remove the seal. 65. Install the cartridges. 66. When the screen below appears select [OK]. 67. Image quality control is performed. 68. Forced color registration is performed. 69. Load letter paper in the drawer. 70. Select [OK]. The test chart for calibration is output. 71. Set the test chart on the glass and select [OK]. Copy gamma adjustment 72. If calibration fails the screen below appears. Check and re-position test chart and run the calibration again. 73. Select [OK]. The test chart for calibration is output. Auto gamma adjustment for 600 dpi printer 74. Set the test chart on the glass and select [OK]. 75. If calibration fails the screen below appears. Check and re-position test chart and run the calibration again. 76. Select [OK]. The test chart for calibration is output. 77. Set the test chart on the glass and select [OK]. Auto gamma adjustment for 1200 dpi printer 78. If calibration fails the screen below appears. Check and re-position test chart and run the calibration again. 79. When all calibrations are completed properly the screen below is displayed. Press the [On/Off] button until a tone is heard. Setting Date and Time 1. Press the [ON/OFF] button. 2. Press [USER FUNCTIONS]. 3. Press [ADMIN], and then [PASSWORD]. Enter the administrator password [123456] (default), and then press [OK]. 4. Press [GENERAL], [CLOCK] and [DATE/TIME]. 5. Enter the values for year, month, date, hour and minute, and then press [OK]. 6. Shut down the equipment by pressing the [ON/OFF] button until you hear a sound. 7. Turn the main power switch OFF.  Clearance Adjustment Notes: • Confirm that the MFP is adjusted properly before performing the RADF adjustment. (Refer to the Service Manual) • Perform the adjustments in the order described in this SET-UP GUIDE. Close the RADF. 2. Turn on the exposure lamp. 1) Turn the power ON with the main power switch while pressing [0] and [3] simultaneously. 2) Press [267] -> [START] to turn the exposure lamp ON for a certain period of time. 3. From the paper exit side, visually check the gap between the platen guide holder A and upper surface of the original glass B. (Fig. 1) * If the platen guide holder is hardly visible, stand by the middle between the gap on the front and rear sides, and check the gap from that position. Adjust by rotating the adjustment screws located at the hinges. • Rear side clearance adjustment (Screw at the hinge on the paper exit side: Fig. 3) Clockwise rotation:The gap widens. Counterclockwise rotation:The gap narrows. • Front side clearance adjustment (Screw at the hinge on the paper feed side: Fig. 2) Clockwise rotation:The gap narrows. All rights reserved MR-3024/MR-3025 45686203EE 13 / 19  Skew Adjustment Notes: • To adjust the skew, follow the procedure below. • Do not adjust the skew by using the clearance adjustment method (by using the adjustment screws at the hinges). [ 1 ] Check Method 1. Using the test chart co-packed with the RADF, make a copy by following the procedure below. A. Simplex copy 1) Place the chart on the RADF original feeder tray with the image face up. 2) Select [1 -> 1 SIMPLEX] and press [START]. B. Duplex copy 1) Place the chart on the RADF original feeder tray with the image face down. 2) Select [2 -> 2 DUPLEX] and press [START]. Fig. 4 2. Place the copy on top of the chart, and check the skew of the copied image. [ 2 ] Adjustment Method A. Simplex copy • In the case of Fig. 5-C: Move the plate to the + side (Fig. 7). • In the case of Fig. 6-D: Move the plate to the side (Fig. 7). B. Turn the power OFF with the main power switch, and back ON. 3. Using the chart co-packed with the RADF, make a copy by following the procedure below. A. Simplex copy 1) Place the chart on the RADF original feeder tray with the image face up. 2) Select [1 -> 1 SIMPLEX] and press [START]. B. Duplex copy 1) Place the chart on the RADF original feeder tray with the image face down (Fig. 9). 2) Select [2 -> 2 DUPLEX] and press [START]. Fig. 9 4. Simplex copy 1) Turn the power ON with the main power switch while pressing [0] and [5] simultaneously. 2) Press [3044] -> [START]. When the margin of the copied image (Fig. 11-F) is larger than that of the chart (Fig. 10E): Enter a value lower than the current one. When the margin of the copied image (Fig. 11-F) is smaller than that of the chart (Fig. 10): Enter a value larger than the current one. 3) Press [OK]. B. Duplex copy 1) Turn the power ON with the main power switch while pressing [0] and [5] simultaneously. 2) In the case of Fig. 5-C: Move the plate to the side (Fig. 8). 3) Press [3045] -> [START]. When the margin of the copied image (Fig. 11-F) is larger than that of the chart (Fig. 10E): Enter a value lower than the current one. When the margin of the copied image (Fig. 11-F) is smaller than that of the chart (Fig. 10E): Enter a value larger than the current one. 4) Press [OK]. Turn the power OFF with the main power switch, and back ON. 3. Using the test chart co-packed with the RADF, make a copy by following the procedure below. 1) Place the chart on the RADF original feeder tray with the image face up. 2) Press [START]. 4. Fold the copy by the middle and check whether it is aligned to the center or not. [ 2 ] Adjustment Method 1. Turn the power ON with the main power switch while pressing [0] and [5] simultaneously. 2. Press [3043] -> [START]. When the center line of the copied image is closer to the front side of the equipment (Fig. 12G): Enter a value larger than the current one. When the center line of the copied image is closer to the rear side of the equipment (Fig. 13H): Enter a value smaller than the current one. 3. Turn the power OFF with the main power switch, and back ON. 3. Using the test chart co-packed with the RADF, make a copy by following the procedure below. 1) Place the chart on the RADF original feeder tray with the image face up. 2) Press [START]. 4. Place the copy on top of the chart, and check the image sizes. [ 2 ] Adjustment Method 1. 2. 3. Turn the power ON with the main power switch while pressing [0] and [5] simultaneously. Press [3042] -> [START]. When the size of the copied image (Fig. 14-I) is larger than the chart: Enter a value smaller than the current one.
