ESU3-QS201-R5 Overview Introduction: ESU3-QS201-R5 is a eSATA & USB 3.0 to Quad SATA II RAID Bridge Board. It is designed to provide SATA port expansion, data protection and performance aggregation in various applications. ESU3-QS201-R5 uses market-proven Multi-port Serial ATA PHY technology and a proprietary storage processor to provide very highly efficient SATA RAID operations. With an easy configuration scheme, the device can function as a pure port multiplier which provides SATA port expansion just like a SATA Hub, a hard drive performance booster which provides a high-performance device seen by the host controller, or a hard drive data protector which automatically backs up data to prevent data loss from hard drive damage. ESU3-QS201-R5 also has an advanced mode to provide both the benefits of performance boost and data protection. ESU3-QS201-R5 has a self-contained storage processor chip which completely frees up the main CPU loading and whose SATA ports comply with the eSATA specification, making it suitable for use in both internal system and external storage applications.

Alarm Buzzer: BZ1: Alarm Buzzer Volume degradation (RAID1/10/5/3/Clone) or unavailability (RAID0/PM) will be marked by turning on the alarm Buzzer for the node that experienced this behavior. Press the “Change Mode Button” to turn off the Buzzer.
RAID Setting: RAID mode rotary switch: RAID levels: 0/1/3/5/10/PM/Clone Factory default mode: PM (Port Multiplier) CHANGE MODE: Change Mode Button 1. Configure the storage policy To configure the storage policy, set the rotary switch to the desired position. Keep the “Change Mode Button” pressed for about 3 ~ 5 seconds while power on to create the new virtual volume. 2. Change the storage policy To change the storage policy, set the rotary switch to PM (Port Multiplier) position. Keep the “Change Mode Button” pressed for about 3 ~ 5 seconds while power on to delete the old virtual volume. Turn off the power and proceed with the “Configure the storage policy” directions above.
