Hearth External air supply All stoves must be sited on a, suitable and legal, non combustible hearth or plinth. All stoves over 5 kW must have an external air supply. Certain models in the Euroheat range can be fitted with an external air kit. Heat output Stove heat output is measured in Kilowatts (kW). It is extremely important to calculate your kW room size. This will enable you to choose the correct size stove for your home. If you choose a stove which is too small then it will not sufficiently heat your room and you may damage it by operating it at too high a temperature to compensate. To help you choose the correct size there is a calculator on our website: euroheat.co.uk/calculators Position Flue Ensure that your stove will fit into the space you have allocated adhering to the minimum recommended distances to any combustible material. Allow access to clean, service the stove and sweep the chimney. You must install a flue to remove gasses from the stove. You can exit up an existing chimney using a flue liner, build a new chimney or exit through the building or an external wall using the Euroheat range of ICS and ICID flue pipe. A HETAS engineer can fit this or if you fit it yourself it must be signed off by your local Building Control Officer. 6 Approvals Smoke control exempt HETAS Euroheat stoves and cookers are approved by HETAS where you see this logo. Defra approved for use anywhere in the UK. Installation We recommend that your stove is fitted by a HETAS registered engineer who can self certify that the stove is fitted to the latest required building standards. Your stove can be installed by any competent person, but the installation will need to be signed off by the Building Control Officer from your local authority who will charge an extra fee for this. Building regulations Please refer to Document J of the Building Regulations. Euroheat have a number of useful documents that fully explain the different considerations when buying a stove. To find your local HETAS installer visit: euroheat.co.uk/stoves/faqs hetas.co.uk/find-installer DIBt The German Institute for Buildings (DIBt) gives technical approval only to those stoves which, having undergone official laboratory tests, conform to strict criteria for safe burning without using air from the room where the stove is situated. The stove can rely solely on an external independent air source to provide all necessary combustion air. The tests check the leak rate, which has to be under 2,5 m³/h, at 10 Pa after thermal and mechanical stress. For example, this includes testing the stove‘s door seal for airtightness after being opened and closed for a minimum of 6,000 times. 7 Franco Belge Monaco installed in Walwyn Court, home of Michael BarberStarkey, co-founder and Managing Director at Euroheat 8 Exceptional heating... 9 Why buy Franco Belge?
