Remote setting of fast and slow shutter speed. The shutter mode of the EMX1000 and EMXC1000 camera modules can be remotely set when used with EMMC1000 (B/W) or EMMC1020 (color) memory and control modules. While fast shutter speed of 1/100 sec. ~ 1/10,000 sec. can be used for observing fast moving objects under highly illuminated/bright areas, the slow shutter speed of 1/25 sec. ~10 sec. increases the camera’s sensitivity several hundred times, allowing observation of stationary objects under ecxtreme low light conditions, such sd moonlight.
THE PIP CAMERA MODULE EMX2 Small size, high sensitivity 1/2” B/W camera module with built-in wide angle lens. The EMX2 is an optional “range finder” B/W mini camera module, providing together with the EMPP1000 module, a wide angle “picture in picture” for displaying the camera’s entire field of view, thereby enabling the observer “easy reognition” of the camera positioning, particularly whenever the zoom lens is set to telephoto. The EMX2 module with its built-in 10mm F1.4 auto iris lens offers exceptionally crisp pictures which can be displayed in any of the four corners of the monitor screen or recalled into a full screen display.

BUILT-IN MOTORIZED PANNING WITH POSITION SENSORS 360 continuous rotation panning PANNING MOTOR DRIVE PCB
Precise and efficient mechanism assembled into the camera pedestal, the panning system incorporates the main camera shaft mounted on dual ball bearings, the main roller, the gear assembly and a brushless, servo motor. Employing ball bearings throughout the gear assembly - two for each individual gear - ensures long gear life, complementing the more than 30,000 hour brushlesscoreless motor.

The panning assembly is easily accessible through the removal of the side arm cover and once released the panning gear assy in itself is serviceable whereby, each and every part of the gear assembly is replaceable, requiring no special mechanical tools or jigs for reassembly.
360 ROTATION WITH HEAVY DUTY SLIP-RINGS Noiseless slip-rings inside the camera shaft Mounted inside the main camera shaft is an innovative slip-ring assembly consisting of 13 rings with four contacts per ring, guaranteeing flawless continuity and no noise. The ring and contacts are made of heat treated phosphor bronze and coated with very hard alloy to offer 0.1m resistance and 250VAC/2A or 24VDC/A contact ratings. The slip-ring body made of high impact polycarbonate and pivoted on dual ball bearings also contains the dual panning sensor assembly and a swivel water joint for delivering water to the pane washer.
BUILT-IN MOTORIZED TILTING AND POSITION SENSOR 180 of smooth tilting Efficient mechanism assembled into the camera case consists of the main camera case mounted on dual ball bearings, the tilting roller, the tilting gear assembly and a brushless servo motor. Long life moving coil (galvanometer) auto iris The “moving coil”, ND filtered auto iris assures long life with MTBF of more than 600,000 hours and response time of less than 1 sec. The auto iris control system provides for manual override of the iris for operating the camera under atypical lighting conditions.
99 zoom & focus presets and last position recall Similar to the panning and tilting sensors, the zoom and focus position sensors enable remote entering/recalling of 99 preset and “last” positions into and from the memory circuit.

Easy access to all parts simplifies servicing The lens motors, gear assemblies and sensors are serviceable and similar to other major components of the EX1000, permitting replacement of all major parts and assemblies.

Elbex commitment to simple service and maintenance All the environments support components and assemblies such as motors, fans, heater and sensors can be easily replaced and serviced. The air filter is freely accessible for cleaning or replacement through the rear of the air duct.
BUILT-IN RECIPROCAL LINEAR WIPER WITH PARKING SENSOR Chain reciprocal movement mechanism Travelling back and forth and wiping the entire front pane, the wiper’s slim mechanism is embedded into the body of the camera case.
Long life, constant load and reduced noise Though the wiper features horizontal reciprocal movement, the wiper motor rotates only in one direction with a smooth constant load. The one direction rotation eliminates the startreverse electrical and mechanical noise and extends the motor’s life.
Auto parking and locking system A parking sensor (photo interupter) of the wiper mechanism along with the auto parking control system locks the wiper in its parking position to the right, behind the front shield and outside the visual angle of the lens. The auto parking control system will also park the wiper when the power line is swithced on or when power is restored after random power failure.
BUILT-IN WASHER Waher fluid delivery through the main shaft The washer system consists of a high pressure water nozzle, a swivel water joint, flexible water hoses, fittings and control circuitry.
Unobstructed movement with built-in swivel water joint The swivel water joint located inside the slip ring assembly and mounted in the main shaft does not obstruct the panning or tilting movements. Similarly the water flows unobstructed through the shaft, the flexible hoses and to the high pressure nozzle.
Simple to connect and install The water inlet fitting located at the bottom center of the main shaft is accessible through the pole mount for easy connections. A connector located in the pole mount provides dry contacts (250V: 2A) to operate the washer pump or an electric water valve.
BUILT-IN HEATER SYSTEM High efficiency ceramic heater Mounted on an efficient heat sink, the heater assembly incorporates two ceramic heaters and a brushless fan, promptly circulating hot dried air to maintain equal temperature to all of the camera’s inner assemblies and the lens.
Simplified service and maintenance The wiper and the washer system are serviceable, permitting easy replacement of parts and assemblies. The wiper blade is freely accessible and can be replaced by simple removal of the front shield.
INTEGRATED PCBs WITH ENVIRONMENTAL, MOTORS CONTROL, POWER SUPPLY, CPU & PIP The main PCB contains all the camera system interconnections and comprises the temperature sensors, the heater control, the rear/front fan and the rear/front duct motor control. The main PCB further comprises the pan, tilt, zoom and focus control circuits along with the tilt motor drive circuit. Several types of main PCB are supplied with the camera in accordance with the camera controls and features. The basic main PCB is for (multi-core cable) control, having a single control wire for each motorized function, whereby applying high or low logic levels to the control wires will operate the motors in reciprocal directions, wherein; high is +15V and low is ground. The simplicity of the “high-open-low” control system to operate the motors provides for custom made controls, using three position level switchers:

Panning motor drive PCB The brushless servo panning motor is driven by a servo circuit mounted in the side arm.
The CPU, PIP, memory and shutter control modules All EX1000 series models with preset, controlled via coax or by RS422 (via twisted pair) employs main PCB to accommodate the CPU module EMDU1000. The EMDU1000 also controls the optional EMMC1000 series modules for setting the shutter speed, which also comprises a video memory for supporting the long time exposure (1/25 sec. ~ 10 sec.) and the PIP module EMPP1000.

The PIP module multiplexes the PIP camera module signals into the video output to display a small sized picture into any of the four corners of the main picture display. The PIP module can be set to display the PIP picture on a full screen or reverse its position to become the main picture, while the main camera picture becomes the PIP. The EMPP1000 module plugs into the main PCB, allowing easy retrieval for adjustment and servicing.
The CPU module consists of a micro processor, operational memories, circuit and an array of drivers, converters and memory backup circuits. The module plugs into the main PCB and hooks up to the sensors and interconnection harnesses. The CPU module controls the speed and operates the pan, tilt, zoom, focus and iris; preset positioning, alarm, local alarm preset and annunciation; heater, wiper, washer, fans, rear and front ducts; auto panning angle and speed; and many more setup functions of the camera module.
EMMC1000 video memory and shutter modules The four models EMMC1000, EMMC1000C (CCIR), EMMC1020 and EMMC1020P (PAL) provide the video memory needed for long exposure of 1/25 sec. to 10 sec.. The modules also control the fast shutter speed (short exposure) of 1/100 sec. to 1/ 10,000 sec. and incorporate the PIP circuit for multiplexing the EMX2 camera module’s signal into the video output.

INTEGRATED OUTDOOR POLE MOUNT Heavy duty pole mount, made of all weather Constructed of cast aluminum base with polycarbonate and stainless steel enclosure, the heavy duty camera mount contains the camera’s power line terminals, fuses, the control wiring terminals and the camera system connectors. The mount further includes the water supply inlet, a control circuit for the water pump and the water pump’s (or an electric water valve’s) connection terminals. A pole mount is supplied as standard with the different EX1000 camera models in accordance with the camera functions, power line and accessories used.
Electrical junction box within the mount simplifies installation and maintenance. The camera power, controls and video connectors are located inside the mount and are accessible through the mount’s front cover. The BNC, 8 pin DIN and PCB plugs offer simplified and convenient hook up or removal of the camera. Screw terminals offer simple hook up of the installation cables which can be inserted through the base or by using locally procured outdoor cable bushings, mounted onto the side cable duct.
