Use Explosive Power Tools (EPT) CPCCCM2007A A Registered Training Organisation Although persons operating an explosive power tool (EPT) in NSW no longer require a ticket from Workcover, all persons operating EPTs must still be trained. Such training and instruction should include: ♦
the work method to be used for selecting the explosive charge & fastener, testing, loading & firing, and control measures based on risk assessment to prevent injury.
♦
the correct use, care and storage and appropriate PPE to be used in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions or Australian Standards.
♦
procedures to be adopted in the event of accident, injury or other emergency.
WorkCover advise that suitable work method training includes the national unit of competency (CPCCCM2007A). Comet Training encourages completion of this course to comply with these training requirements, in order to meet the employers obligations for training under Clause 39 of the WHS Regulation. Employers may be held legally liable if they do not comply with statutory requirements relating to training.
A 1 DAY COURSE INCLUDING THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT
Participants must hold the WorkCover OHS General Induction for Construction Card (White Card). Photo identification e.g. Passport or Drivers Licence is required Participants should wear normal casual clothes, including enclosed shoes

Assessment Method There is a two part assessment process: a written knowledge assessment and a practical performance assessment. To be competent participants must pass both parts of the assessment.
Course Outcome Successful participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment and a wallet-sized card
Under the NSW Fair Trading CPD scheme, successful participants will be eligible for 16 CPD points.

Bring WORKBOOTS to change in to for practical work, and also HEARING PROTECTION Participants are expected to have a good command of the English language as all course materials and assessments are conducted in English.
