Instructions on how to connect your mobile phone via Bluetooth using the pairing feature of the Mercedes-Benz hands-free system. (All examples shown are using the COMAND system) For a connection between your mobile phone and your Mercedes-Benz hands-free system to be successful Bluetooth must be turned on in your mobile phone. Please make sure to also read the operating and pairing instructions of the mobile phone. Please follow the steps below to connect your mobile phone iPhone4 with the mobile phone application of your Mercedes-Benz hands-free system using Bluetooth. Step 1 To get to the telephone screen of your Mercedes-Benz hands-free system press the “TEL” key on the radio. Step 2 Select the "Telephone" application located in the lower left corner. Step 3 Select the "Bluetooth telephones" application. Mercedes-Benz 1 Step 4 Select “Options” Step 5 Select "External authorisation". Step 6 The display of your Mercedes-Benz hands-free system will show "Ready for external authorisation". Now the system is ready for a new Bluetooth connection. Step 7 (to be performed on your iPhone4) From the main screen of your mobile phone, 1. Select "Settings" 2. Select “General” 3. Select "Bluetooth" 4. Select the option “Bluetooth”, to turn on Bluetooth®. 5. Select “MB Bluetooth” 6. Select “Pair” Mercedes-Benz 2 Step 8 Confirm the authorization of iPhone4 by selecting "Yes". The name of your mobile phone will be displayed where “iPhone4" is shown. Step 9 Pass code is required to input. Step 10 Input any pass code (for iPhone4, at least 4 digits, e.g.0000). Then select the option “ok”. Step 11 (to be performed on your iPhone4) Input the same pass code (e.g.0000) on your phone, and then select “Yes”. If there are any additional pop-ups on your iPhone4 select ok to enable these features. Step 12 Wait for authorization to finish. Mercedes-Benz 3 Step 13 After your mobile phone is authorized successful and successfully connected via Bluetooth to your Mercedes-Benz hands-free system the name of your mobile phone (iPhone4) will be displayed in the top middle of the screen.
