SMC’s new EZ CardBus 10/100 combines the power of Fast Ethernet with the power of the 32-bit CardBus interface supported by today’s new high-performance portable computers. This combination provides up to 200 Mbps throughput in fullduplex mode. The EZ CardBus 10/100 is compatible with both 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps networks. It also supports the IEEE Auto-Negotiation standard that permits it to automatically adjust to the highest possible speed supported by the LAN segment. This dual-mode operation eases the migration from 10 Mbps Ethernet to 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet. The EZ CardBus 10/100 is compatible with CardBuscompliant laptops. It extends your laptop’s battery life by consuming only 3.3V, nearly half the power required by older PCMCIA network cards. The EZ CardBus 10/100 also supports the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) to reduce PC power consumption through better coordination with the operating system. The EZ CardBus 10/100 ships with drivers for most popular network operating systems. Drivers are available on SMC’s SuperDisk™ installation diskette or Web site.
