General Description The Formula 7400-E is a powerful mobile computer based on PC technology with an optional integrated Wi-Fi card for Wireless IEEE802.11b communication that can be easily integrated in all the most popular information systems. It is resistant to falls and knocks and has high grade protection for harsh environments. This mobile computer is equipped with a standard DOS operating system and powered by an effective 32-bit 486 processor. It offers 8 MB RAM for system operations and virtual-disk data storage, as well as 8 MB Flash for storage of applications and data files. The F7400-E takes advantage of a miniature scanning engine providing a very bright laser beam and great reading performance on any kind of surface, both indoor and outdoor. It also provides a removable/rechargeable Ni-MH high power battery pack (1,800 mAh) to fully support long-term scan-intensive warehousing operations. For RF data communication, the F7400-E fully supports the IEEE802.11b (Wi-Fi) standard. It can be connected to any Wi-Fi compliant WLAN infrastructure and immediately associated to any WMS through DL-TCL™, Datalogic’s terminal emulator software that supports both VT100/220 and IBM5250 standards. The Formula 7400-E can be simply and fully programmed by using the Development System for F7400-E, based on standard C compilers integrated with special Datalogic software libraries. Furthermore, the F7400-E is compatible with most of Datalogic’s software tools, such as DL Mobile Configurator™, DL Keep Connecting™, DL TN Link™, DL Web-Link™ and MCL Collection™ Suite for programming, monitoring and configuration operations. The F7400-E is a professional mobile computer ideal for any data collection application, especially in the retail market, where small size, light weight and durability are critical success factors.

Accessories The Formula 975 Multicharger is the ideal answer for battery recharging requirements in applications where intense use of the terminal and therefore extremely reduced rest time is necessary. The Formula 975 permits 4 battery packs to be placed in the cradle and recharge simultaneously, allowing more operators to continue working by simply changing the run down device. In this manner, all the pauses necessary for recharging when the terminal is placed in the classic Transceiver/Charger are avoided. The Multicharger also optimises battery lifetime thanks to its recycling option, which eliminates the possibility of “memory effect.”
User Interfaces Datalogic offers the Formula 7400-E with 2 keypad possibilities to satisfy all application needs. The Formula 7400-E 37K is equipped with a 37 key keypad, optimised in terms of space, color scheme and ease of operation to accommodate the integration of a new graphic overlay. This allows easy alphanumeric data entry and access to various complex functions in a practical and efficient manner. The Formula 7400-E 24K was designed for basic applications, mainly composed of numerical data entry operations. In fact, 10 of the 24 keys, immediately visible thanks to their particular color, are dedicated mainly to numerical symbologies. This graphic integration allows keypad functions to be personalised when using particular symbologies, avoiding the need for more expensive and complicated modifications to the keypad layout.
