Status Panel Functions Figure 3 illustrates the status panel LCD (liquid crystal display) and status indicator lights. Functions of these lights are described below.

Control Panel Functions Figure 4 illustrates the control panel with its keypad and sets the operational parameters of the printer. Additionally, the LCD shows operational conditions and error messages. Descriptions of the control panel functions are listed in the table below.

Loading Documents The two document storage bins each hold one box of 1,000 documents. The bins, located under the prefeed slots, are accessible when you unlock the printer and slide the printer drawer outward. Document storage bins hold ATB documents in bin 1 and pocket itineraries or ATB documents in bin 2. To load documents you complete two procedures. Each procedure contains step-by-step instructions. The two procedures are: • Setting document box in printer • Placing documents into prefeed slots Setting Document Box in Printer: 1. Turn the power switch to (off). 2. Unlock printer and pull drawer out to its full extension. 3. Remove the top lid cover of the box by tearing along the perforation. Do not remove documents from the box. 4. Place the document box into the document storage bin. Ensure that the magnetic stripe of the ATB stock is facing up and is closest to the inside of the printer. Note: For easy loading, tilt box forward as you place it into the document storage bin.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the second bin. Placing Documents into Prefeed Slots: 1. Turn the document set lever to the right. 2. Insert the edge of the document until it is even with the arrows. Do not force the document past the stop. See Figure 6. 3. Release the document set lever. 4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for second bin.

5. Close and lock printer. Printer will not operate unless closed and locked. 6. Power printer on.

External Stacker Attachment and Removal The external stacker is ideal for high volume ticketing environments. It attaches to the front of the printer and has a capacity of approximately 1,500 documents. The cover of the external stacker can be locked to secure completed documents in environments where security is necessary. To Attach the External Stacker: 1. Insert the bottom lip of the external stacker into the corresponding slots near the bottom of the printer front panel. 2. Push the top of stacker into the interlock hole to engage the stacker. 3. Press [MOD], [9], [1] on the control panel to display ejection path options. 4. Press +/–, [ENT] to select external stacker. To Remove Documents from the External Stacker: 1. Unlock the stacker cover. 2. Place fingers in the indent of the cover and lift the cover. See Figure 7. 3. Carefully remove printed documents from the storage elevator.

4. Replace and lock the cover to the external stacker. 5. Reset external counter by pressing [MOD, [0], [ENT] on the control panel. Note: Resetting the document counter without removing all printed documents will cause a jam. To Remove External Stacker: 1. Power off printer. 2. Unlock the printer and slide the drawer forward. 3. Pull the document stacker release lever, located inside the front panel, toward the outside of the printer. CAUTION: The external stacker can be very heavy when it contains printed documents. Always use caution when removing the external stacker from the printer. 4. Pull stacker away from the printer. 5. If you intend to continue ticketing after removing the external stacker, be sure to select the internal stacker ejection path. 1. Press [MOD], [9], [1] to display document ejection path options. 2. Press +/– to select the internal stacker. 3. Press [ENT] to save selection.

Document Jam Detection A jam may occur along one of the five document paths. See Figure 8. The LCD indicates the number and location of the jammed documents. Detecting Jam Condition If a jam occurs when a document is being issued, the printer: • Lights the error LED. • Sounds several beeps. • Stops printing. • Displays the following message on the LCD:

Note: If document is jammed between locations, use document advance knob to move it forward/backward. 4. Remove jammed document 5. close and lock printer 6. Turn Power Switch to | (on).

Diskette Care and Use The software diskette contains programs and data to run the printer. It is to be used only in the printer. It is not designed for PC use.
