This camcorder is a precision product. Please do not drop it or hit it physically. 2. Keep the camcorder away from any object with a strong magnetic field, like magnet or electromotor, or any object emitting strong radio waves, like antenna, as a strong magnetic field may cause failure to the device or cause damage to image and audio data. 3. Do not expose the camcorder to high temperature or sunlight directly. 4. Keep the Micro SD card away from the strong magnetic field of TV, speaker, or magnet. Preface Thanks for purchasing FANTEC’s BeastVision HD Wi-Fi hands-free mini high-definition digital camcorder. Due to its small size and design, the hands-free camcorder is easy to operate. Supported by high-definition and dynamic image capturing technology, it can record real scenes and various activities anytime and anywhere and you can share wonderful recording experiences with your family and friends. This manual specifies how to use and install the device and provides detailed information, including the instructions on use, operation and installation as well as the technical specifications. Please read this manual carefully. 1. Repair If the device has a problem, you should take it to an appointed repair center and let the specialists do the repair, never repair the player yourself, you might damage the device or endanger yourself or your data. 2. Disposing of the Camcorder When you dispose the camcorder, be sure to dispose it appropriately. Some countries may regulate disposal of electrical device, please consult with your local authority. 3. Others Do not disassemble the camcorder, repair or change the design of it, any damage done will not be included in the repair policy. Do not press the buttons of the device too hard. Avoid hitting the player with hard object, and stay away from magnetic fields. During electrostatic discharge and the strong electromagnetic field, the product will malfunction, then remove the battery and the product will return to normal performance next time it is powered on. 4 4. The device can be used in handheld or hands-free mode and combined with various non-hand-held accessories. The camcorder can be installed wherever you like, even operation in the water by the waterproof casing is possible. The installation is shown as follows: a) Installation and removal of the TFT display screen and the main body b) Installation of the main body With TFT display screen into the waterproof case 2. Start up Turn the power switch to “ON” to start up the device. 2. LCD segment screen icons: a) Record mode: The current record mode can be viewed on the top left corner of the LCD segment screen, this symbol “ ” indicates the video recording mode and this symbol “ ” indicates the voice recording mode. b) Photo shooting indicator: The shooting icon “ ” can be viewed on the LCD segment screen. The icon will twinkle one time when shooting one photo. c) Power icon: The power icon “ ” can be viewed on the top right corner of the LCD segment screen. The icon is visible constantly after the device is running and the disappearance of the icon means the device is shut down or has entered the standby mode. d) Video recording duration: The duration of the current video recording is displayed on the middle line of the LCD segment screen, and is indicated by this display “ ”. The video recording will start displaying when pressing “Record” key, and it will stop when pressing “Stop” key. Note: The video recording duration on LCD segment screen and TFT display screen is displayed synchronously. 10 e) Indication of battery power: The battery power icon “ ” can be viewed on the bottom left corner of LCD segment screen and it will indicate the battery power status after starting up. The more black grids the higher the remaining power. f) USB connection: The USB mode icon “ ” can be viewed on the LCD segment screen and it indicates whether the device is connected with the computer. The green indicator light on the left twinkles slowly. The icon appears after connecting with a computer in operating mode and it will not be displayed when not connecting with computer. g) Micro SD card capacity indication: The Micro SD card capacity icon “ ” can be viewed on the bottom right corner of LCD segment screen to indicate the capacity of the Micro SD card. The more black grids the higher the spare capacity. The green indicator light on the left remains shinning when the card is out of memory. 3. TFT display screen icons a) Work mode: The video recording icon “ ” on the top left corner of the TFT display screen indicates that it is in video recording standby mode. b) Battery power: The battery power icon “ ” on the bottom left corner of the TFT display screen indicates the remaining power of the battery. c) Resolution of video recording: 1080P/1080i/960P/720P/WVGA on the bottom left corner of the TFT display screen indicates that the system is in 1080P/1080i/960P/720P/WVGA mode. d) Spare storage capacity: Information of whether an external card is installed " or ". The spare storage capacity " " can be viewed then on the bottom right corner of the TFT display screen. 11 e) It cannot respond operations of "<" and ">" under the preview mode. f) The device can be charged with the attached USB cable (optional power adapter available, too): The “Red Indicator of Working/ Charging” on the top of the unit will twinkle slowly during charging and it will stay constantly red after fully charged. The charging duration is about 3h. Note: Before use, please check if there is enough battery power. In case of a low battery, please charge the device via the attached USB cable. The “Red Indicator of Working/ Charging” will twinkle slowly during charging and if the battery is fully loaded, it remains shinning constant. 4. Format the Micro SD card Please select particularly a high-speed Micro SD card only and format it via the device before recording videos, voice or taking photos. If the Micro SD card has ever been used on other devices, please format it on device first. Note: Please confirm whether files on the internal memory of the device and on the Micro SD card are needed before operating. Locked files on the device can be removed by formatting the internal memory. 12 5. Set the date/ time In preview mode, press “M” key to enter the menu interface, press “>” key to shift to the setup interface “ ”, press “ + ” or “ - ” key to select the menu “Date/Time”, and then press “OK” key to enter the setup interface of “Date/Time”. Then press “OK” key again to finish. Characters/ numbers showing date or time turn blue when the cursor appears. Press “+” or “-” to reset the date or time. Press “OK” to confirm the revision. Press “M” to exit the setting interface. In preview mode, press “M” key to enter the menu interface, press “<” or “>” key to move the cursor left and right and press “+” or “-” key to move the cursor up and down. After selecting the menu, press “OK” key to set the selected menu and press “M” key again to exit. (The parameters set will resume even in case the product needs to be powered off or restarted. In order to have a different mode, please read the product manual.) 13 9. Parameter & Settings 1. Video setting of Camcorder parameter: a) Record modus: select a video, audio recording, Time Lapse Video and Self Timer Video. b) Setting the Video Size: Select 1080P, 1080i, 960P, 720P, WVGA c) Visual Angle: The camcorder supports four visual angles (default setting is “Wide Angle”). Wide Angle “ “ Middle Angle “ ” Narrow Angle “ ” Small Angle “ Note: The preceding views apply only to the 1080P or 1080i HD 14 ” d) Bit rate: The camcorder supplies two options, fine “ “and normal ” A clearer image results a higher bit rate and a larger file size. “ (default setting is “fine”). e) Laser Synchronous Shooting: Turn on ” ” or turn off “ “ the laser transmitter (default setting is “OFF”). This feature helps in sighting the target object or to align the camera. f) Time Lapse: This function generates a time-lapse video from images that have been created all 1s/5s/30s until you press the Stop button, the memory card is full or the battery is empty. g) Self-Recording mode and choose an option from “OFF”, “5 Seconds”, “10 Seconds” or “20 Seconds” to set the countdown time before video starts recording. h) Photo Rotation Mode: select "Flip Rotate 180" to "On" and 180 ° rotation of the camera for Overhead shots to enable playback as normal. The 180° photo rollover function is unavailable for video recording in 480P/100fps and 480P/120fps modes. i) Time Display: Is " Time Display" activated, the date and time during the recording will automatically appear at the bottom right of the image. The display time function is unavailable for video recording in 1080i, 480P/100fps,480P/120fps modes. 15 Note: a) In “Voice recording mode”, press “Record” key and the system starts recording. Voice recording duration is displayed on the bottom of the TFT display screen and the green indicator twinkles slowly; if press “Stop” key, the system will stop and save the current audio file. The green indicator turns off and the red indicator remains bright and the unit returns to the preview mode (the corresponding operation is displayed on the LCD segment screen). b) During “Sound recording”, the product is responsive only when pressing “Stop”, “Off” or “M” key. If you may switch to video recording, the sound recording will be automatically stopped and saved. c) The laser icon will be displayed on the top left corner of the preview interface when turning on the function of “Laser synchronous shooting”, which indicates the system is in this shooting mode. At this time, the laser will be turned on when starting recording and it will be turned off when stopping recording. 16 2. Photo setting the camcorder parameter: a) Setting Image Resolution: For the number of megapixels you choose 3M, 5M or 8M. b) Capture modus: select between: Single Shot, Fast Shot, Auto Cont Capture, Self Timer c) Fast Shot: Press “Shutter” once can take 3, 6 or 10 photos continuously. d) Continuous shoot: Takes one photo every 2s/5s/10s/20s/30s/60s until you press a key to stop, the card is full or the power is run out. e) Self-Timer Mode: Select time to count down (“3s”, “5s” or “10s”) and press “M” to return to preview status. Press “Camera” and the countdown starts. The self-timer indicator light flashes after the countdown takes a snapshot. The self-timer mode remains activated as default. In order to switch to single snapshot mode, please manually turn off self-timer mode. f) Time Display: Is " Time Display" activated, the date and time during the recording will automatically appear at the bottom right of the image. Note: a) The self-timer mode remains activated as default. In order to switch to single snapshot mode, please manually turn off self-timer mode. b) The self-timer mode and continuous shooting mode cannot be activated at the same time. 17 3. Setting of system parameter: a) Warning tone: Turn on or turn off the key tone. b) Status Indicator: Please turn it on or off before self timing, the default setting is “ON”. c) Loop coverage: The video/ audio file will be auto saved in segment once every 15 minutes when setting “Loop Coverage”. If it is not set, the video/ audio file will be auto saved in segment once every 30 minutes. Note: The segment size is determined by the file size, not the actual recording. According files are segmented in the dark in more than 15/30 minutes, because the file size decreases in the dark and the same recording time. d) Auto standby: Set the auto standby time to 0, 2 minutes, 5 minutes or 10 minutes. If there’s mission or operation, the system will start the standby countdown and the device will turn off. If there is an operation during the countdown, the system will restart it. If video recording or the shutter is operated in the standby mode, the device will be waked up. The default standby time is 5 minutes. e) TV output format: NTSC or PAL video format output to TV. If the selected format is changed, please unplug the AV cable and then reinsert it to update the parameters. f) Contrast: The product is preset with standard contrast ratio. If necessary, the contrast ratio can be increased for a better night shot. g) ISO: The preset ISO sensitivity is activated as default. If necessary, ISO800 can be set for a better night shot. 18 h) Exposure: The multi-field exposure allows good results for the whole screen. In dark scene in a bright environment you choose center-weighted. In bright and dark ambient scene, choose the point of exposure. i) G-Sensor: If this parameter is set to “ON”, the camera starts video recording when the camera is shaken or when the vehicle starts. If the video camera does not shake or when the vehicle stops, the video camera stops video recording in about three minutes. By default, this parameter is set to OFF. j) Language: Choose between English, German, French and Russian k) Date/Time: The time can be adjusted. Set the values with + / - and buttons and confirm with "OK" l) Format: If all recording files are no longer needed, you can remove this by Formatting the card. Note: If there is no card inserted, the memory of the unit will be formatted. After inserting a card, the system will format the card, but not the internal memory unit. m) Factory default: This operation is setting all parameter to factory default. The system will set the display mode to English. Press “M” key to enter the menu selection, press “<” or “>” key to enter the menu “Setup”, press “-“ key to select the option “Language”. Note: Press “M” key under the submenu to exit the settings of the submenu. 19 10. Operation 1. Memory card Insert the Micro SD card. We recommend a "Class 10" high-speed card. 2. Preview mode Turn the power switch to “ON” to turn on the device and the red indicator will be lightened and the unit will enter the preview mode. Note: a) In case of low battery power, you will find the battery icon “ ” and the message “Low Power” on the TFT screen. b) If no Micro SD card is inserted, this Micro SD card icon “ ” is shown on the TFT screen. 3. Video recording: Press the “Record” key in preview mode to start recording. The video recording duration will be displayed on the top right of TFT display screen. During video recording process you can zoom in (“+” key) and zoom out (“-” key). If press “stop” key, the system will stop and save the current video and the front side blue LED indicator will turn off. Note: a) If you turn the power switch to “OFF” during video recording, the system will save the current file and then shut down. b) If the battery power is getting to low during video recording, the system will save the current file and give the message “Low Battery” on the TFT display and then turn off 20 c) If the memory space gets full during video recording, the system will save the current file and give the message “card is full” on the TFT display screen then and go back to the preview mode. The video recording duration on the LCD screen also will stop displaying. d) In cyclic recording mode, the system will auto save a file every 15 minutes. (The self-timer mode and continuous shooting mode cannot be activated at the same time) e) After it the unit is fully charged, the continuously record time is about 2.5 hours. The continuous voice recording time is about 3 hours. f) Pressing “+” or “-” key in voice recording mode cannot increase/ reduce the volume; however pressing “+” or “-” key in audio playback mode can increase/ reduce it. g) Connect the unit to high-definition display device with HDMI cable in preview mode and the basic operation of the unit can be finished on the high-definition display device. 4. Photo shooting You can set the image resolution before shooting photos. Press “M” key to enter the setup interface, press “>”or “<” key to move the cursor to “ ”, select “Image Resolution”, and press “OK” key to enter the resolution setup menu. There are three resolution modes available: 3M: Photo shooting resolution of 2048x1536; 5M: Photo shooting resolution of 2592x1944; 8M: Photo shooting resolution of 3200x2400; a) Single shot: In preview mode, press “Shutter” to take a photo with a “Click” sound. The front side red indicator will twinkle (the photo shooting icon on LCD segment screen will twinkle) and it will return to the preview mode. 21 b) Fast shot: On the camera setup interface, press the “+” or “–” key and choose “Fast shot”. Press “OK” to display the interface. Press the “>” key, and choose 3 p/s or 6p/s or 10 p/s (photo/second). Press “OK” again to exit the interface. Press the “M” key to exit the camera setup interface. After press the “Photo” key to enter the shoot standby mode, the BeastVision video camera continuously takes three pictures or six pictures or ten pictures when you press the Photo key once. c) Auto cont capture: On the camera setup interface, press the “–” key and choose “Auto Cont Capture”. Press “OK” to set the time interval for continuous shooting to 2s, 3s, 5s, 10s, 20s ,30s or 60s . After press the “>” key to set the time interval. Press “OK” again to exit the intreface. Press the “M” key to exit the setup interface. At this time, if you press the “Photo” key, the BeastVision video camera takes a picture at each interval until you press the “Stop” key to cancel shooting. d) Self Shot: On the camera setup interface, press the “+” key and choose “Timed Shooting”. Press “OK” to set the time in auto-shooting mode to 3 s, 5 s, or 10 s. Press the “>” key, and choose “Timed Shooting”. Press “OK” again to save and exit the interface. Press the M key to exit the camera setup interface. After setting is complete, the BeastVision video camera starts reverse-counting timer when you press the Photo key once. When the preset time is reached, the BeastVision video camera takes a picture. Note: a) If the memory space gets full, the system will give the message “card is full' on TFT display screen and goes back to the preview mode b) The self-timer has to be re-started in order to take another self-shot. 22 5. Voice recording Press “M” key to enter the Camcorder setting interface, select “Capture Mode”, press “OK” key to enter the selection interface, press “<” or “>” key to select “ ”, press “OK” key to confirm your selection, and finally press “M” key to exit the setup interface. Press the “Record” key to start recording, and the blue LED indicator twinkles slowly, the TFT screen displays the voice recording icon, and the timer is started. The voice recording duration will be displayed on the top right of TFT display screen, the “Blue LED Indicator of Video/Voice Recording” and the front side “ Video Recording/Shooting Indicator (Red)” will twinkle slowly, and the recording duration is displayed on the LCD. If pressing the “Stop” key, the system will stop and save the current audio file. After voice recording, press “M” to return to system setting interface. Click “Capture Mode” and press “OK” to enter the selection interface. Press “<” or “>” key select “ ” to exit the voice mode. Note: After re-starting the unit, it will always switch back to video recording mode. 6. File playback You can directly view the audio, video and photo files on the device. Press “ ” key to enter the playback selection interface and press it again to exit. Select the video file interface “ ” to view video files, select photo file interface “ ” to view photos. If selecting mixed file interface “ ” you can view all video, audio and photos files. The more playback files are stored on the unit, the more times it takes to enter the preview interface. 23 a) Video playback: Enter “ ” interface and all files appear on the screen. Select the video file by pressing “>” or “<” and press “OK” to playback. You can use the following functions: + Volume UP Volume Down < Fast rewind > Fast forward 1. Reset the playing from the beginning. OK Play / Pause 2. Press it again to return to playback interface. b) Fast Forward/ Backward can be set to 1/4x, 1/2x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x. c) Photo playback: Enter “ ” interface and all files appear on the screen. Select the photo file by pressing “>” or “<” and press “OK” to view. You can use the following functions. + 1.Zoom - 1.Zoom 2.In zoom in mode, press “OK” to move 2.In zoom in mode, press “OK” to the photo downward move the photo upward < Move Photos Right Return to playback interface > Move Photos left OK In zoom in mode, the photo can be zoomed in or out by pressing “+” or “-”. d) Audio playback: Enter “ ” interface and all files appear on the screen. Select the audio file by pressing “>” or “<” and press “OK” to play. You can use the following functions. + Volume UP Volume Down 1. Reset the playing from the beginning. OK Play / Pause 2. Press it again to return to playback interface. Fast Forward/ Backward options are not available under audio playback mode. 24 e) Auto play: Playback the photo files in the folder at an interval of 5s. (Default setting is “OFF ”) 7. Delete or protect files In playback mode at first select the file and then press ”M” key. Now you can use the following functions: a) Delete file option. After pressing “OK” key you can select to delete a single file or delete all files. Please confirm your selection by “ ” or cancel by “ ”. b) Protect file option. All files can be set to protected or unprotected mode. After pressing “OK” key you can select to protect/ unprotect a single file or protect / unprotect all files. Note: For protected files the icon “ ” will appear on the bottom left corner. Unprotected files will be indicated by the icon “ ". It’s not possible to delete protected files by the unit itself. Either you unprotect it again or you have to format the memory card. 8. Remote control You can use the remote control to remote video recording, photo shooting and turn the laser function on/off. The red indicator on the remote control will twinkle once when you press any of the following keys. 25 Record Shutter Stop Press the Shutter key for 3 seconds to turn on or of the laser function. Please follow the steps below to pair the remote control before the first usage. Press and hold the “Record” key of the device, turn the power switch to “ON”, and then release the ”Record” key of the device after 3 seconds. Then press “Record” and “Stop” key on the remote control at the same time for 3s to finish the remote control pairing process. The device will tick twice after pairing the remote control successfully. To test the correspondence of the remote control and the device, keep the Shutter button pressed for 3s to turn on/off the laser function. Note: a) The remote control functions include: Video recording starting/stopping, photo shooting, standby mode and laser light turning on/off. The device will tick once for each operation. In case of video record stopping or laser light turning off, the device will tick twice. b) Remote control range: The remote control can work within 15 meters (horizontally without barriers). c) Pressing “Record” , “Shutter” or “Stop” key on the remote control can wake up the device out of the standby mode. 9. Standby mode: Turn the power switch to “ON” to enter preview mode. If there’s no operation within the selected standby time, the system will auto enter the standby power-saving mode. Pressing “Record” or “Shutter” key at the device or any key on the remote control can wake up the device again. 26 Note: a) Pressing keys on the TFT screen cannot wake up the device out of the standby mode. b) The LCD segment screen does not display anything in standby mode. 10. AV output: In preview mode, connect the device with the AV cable (optional available) to a display unit like TV, projector, monitor or equal unit. Note: After connecting the AV cable to the LCD display and the audio output of the unit is turned on. 11. HDMI output In preview mode, connect the device with Mini-HDMI cable (optional available) to a display unit like TV, projector, monitor or equal unit. Note: In preview mode, connect the device with the HDMI cable (optional available) to a display unit like TV, projector, monitor or equal unit. 12. USB connection: a) When there is no battery inside of the device, use the USB power adapter (optional available) to connect it to the device. All functions can be operated meanwhile. b) In operating mode, use the provided USB cable to connect the device to a computer. All data stored on the internal memory of the device and on the Micro SD card can be accessed in read mode. At this time, the LCD segment screen will display the USB connection icon. 27 Note: If you don’t have the USB power adapter, the battery inside of the device can be charged by the USB port of the computer by the use of the provided USB cable. 13. Key tone indication a) Press “Record” or “Shutter” key in normal use and the device will tick one time to confirm the operation. b) When video recording is stopped, the device will tick twice. c) Device will tick twice to indicate the successful pairing with the remote control. d) If you press “Shutter” key during video recording, the device will not give a confirmation. e) If the system is video recording mode an you press the “Stop” key on the remote control, the device will tick twice to indicate the stopping of video recording. f) Pressing any key on the remote control in if the device is in standby mode, the device will tick one time and wake up out of the standby mode. g) To turn off the key tone, press “M” key in preview mode, then press “>” or “<” key to enter the “Setup”, press “+” or “-” key to select the menu “Key Tone”, and then you can turn on or turn off the key tone. 28 14. Laser light indication a) Press the “Record” key for 3s and the system will turn on or off the laser light. b) The laser light turning on/off also can be operated in standby mode. c) The wireless remote control can turn on or off the laser light by pressing the “Shutter” key for 3s. Note: Turning on/off the laser light does not affect the parameter setting of turning on “Laser Synchronous Shooting”. 15. Turning On/Off the TFT Display a) Pressing the “Shutter” key on the device for 3 seconds will turn on or off the TFT display. b) The TFT display can’t be turned on or off by pressing “Shutter” key on remote control. 29 11. File Storage and Playback 1. Storage Via the provided USB cable you can copy the recorded video files to your computer. Otherwise you can remove the Micro SD card and insert it into a card reader. Then you can select software like Media Player or VLC Media Player to playback the videos. It’s even possible to playback the video directly with FANTEC’s Full HD media players like e.g. FANTEC 3DFHL, FANTEC AluMovie HD, FANTEC P3700, FANTEC P2700, FANTEC 3DS4600, FANTEC MM-FHDL, etc. Note: a) Please turn off the device before inserting or unplugging the USB cable. b) Turn the power switch to “OFF” before charging device. The red indicator will twinkle slowly in charging. c) You can directly copy or move the recorded files to your computer when the power switch is turned to “ON”. 30 2. Playback You can use a Mini-HDMI cable or an AV cable (optional available) to connect the device to a TV or monitor with HDMI or AV interface. Note: a) After connecting the device via MiniHDMI cable, please select the HDMI input source of the TV. If you select the AV cable, please plug all colored connectors to the corresponding interfaces of the TV. 12. Additional Backup Battery Installation (optionally available) 1. Installation The provided additional external battery can be installed as shown at the below figure. It will extend the working time of the device. 2. Check battery power status Press the left side button to view the state of charge of the backup battery. One of the LED lights will flash for 3 seconds and will indicate the following status. 31 Green LED: Fully charged Button Blue LED: Medium charged Red LED: Low power 3. Battery charging Please connect the device including attached backup battery to an USB port in order to charge the battery. Otherwise you can connect the backup battery separately via USB cable to charge it as shown on the picture below. If you are in possession of the USB power adapter, you can use this instead. Note: a) If the device is not used frequently, it is suggested to charge the battery once within six month to extend the life time of the battery. b) The backup battery has automatic protection against overcharging and short circuit. The red LED light keeps flashing when the battery is charged and the green LED light is on when the battery is fully charged. (The battery can be charged for 500 times.) c) If you are going to charge the device by the additional USB power adapter, please turn the power switch to OFF, otherwise the unit will try to make up a USB data connection. d) For use as permanent power supply or simultaneous battery charging use only the original power supply for the BeastVision HD (Item 7043). Otherwise, it may cause radio interference, come reception interruptions or permanent reboot the device. 32 13. Wi-Fi backpack installation and use WiFi Indicator / Blue Indicator / Green Charging Indicator / Red Power Key (press it to turn on/off the WiFi; long press it for 3s to check the battery level) Note: WiFi Backpack does not support plug and play. Please turn off your camera before installing WiFi Backpack. 1. State of charge Long press the power key for 3s: 1) If the blue indicator remains on for 3s and then goes out, the battery power is higher than 65%; 2) If the green indicator remains on for 3s and then goes out, the battery power is between 35% and 65%; 3) If the red indicator remains on for 3s and then goes out, the battery power is lower than 35%. Prompt for low battery: in case of low battery, the red indicator will flash quickly; if the Wi-Fi is turned on, you will hear an alarm for low power; the alarm will not stop until 10s after the Wi-Fi is turned off. Note: In case of low battery, the red indicator will flash quickly; if the Wi-Fi is turned on, you will hear an alarm for low power; the alarm will not stop until 10s after the Wi-Fi is turned off. 33 2. Charging Connect the Wi-Fi Backpack to the power supply or computer through the attached charger or USB cable (as shown in the figure below). The Wi-Fi Backpack has the overcharge protection function. In the charging process, the red indicator will flash slowly. When the battery is fully charged, the red indicator will remain on. Enable the Wi-Fi searching function of a mobile receiving device to find the wireless SSID “BeastVision HD Wi-Fi” and then click “Connect” to connect the mobile device to your camera (default password: 00000000). 2) Click the application icon “ ” on the mobile device to display the icon ( ) shown in Fig. 1 Enter the interface shown in Fig. 2 to remotely view your camera’s screen and set your camera’s functions. Note: In case of Wi-Fi connection failure, the icon " " will appear. Select "Yes" to try to connect again. Change Wi-Fi Connection Name and Password 1. Change the Wi-Fi connection name: Remove your SD card from your BeastVision camera and connect your SD card to the computer. On the computer, double click "My Computer" to find and enter the removable SD card, and then open the " " WiFi.conf file with the Editor in the folder "MISC". Find "ESSID=00000000" and "AP_SSID=00000000". Change the content following the equal sign "=" to your desired name and then click "Save". (Note: the name following "ESSID=" should be exactly same as that following "AP_SSID=".) 2. Change the Wi-Fi connection password: Remove your SD card from your BeastVision camera and connect your SD card to the computer. On the computer, double click "My Computer" to find and enter the removable SD card, and then open the " " wifi.conf file with the Editor in the folder "MISC". Find "PASSWORD=00000000" and "AP_PASSWD=00000000". Change the content following the equal sign "=" to your desired password (containing at least 8 digits) and then click "Save". (Note: the password following "PASSWORD=" should be exactly same as that following "AP_PASSWD=".) 37 14. Care and maintenance of underwater housing. The underwater housing must be thoroughly rinsed with fresh water after each use in salt water. Rinse the buttons on the underwater housing thoroughly with water. After that, please dry the case. Should the case not be thoroughly cleaned, it can lead to corrosion or salt deposits on the door hinges and the snaps. Moreover, the rubber seal between the door and the housing has to be cleaned with water. Corrosion, small lint or even a grain of sand can affect the tightness of the underwater housing. Important: If the underwater housing is not maintained and serviced after each use in salt water, the underwater housing can leak and the BeastVision could be damaged. If through lack of maintenance, corrosion have formed in the housing, then you should not use the underwater case in the water. The warranty does not cover water damage caused by improper handling or user error. 38 15. Please take care on following items during operation. a) Do not disassemble and re-fix the sealing ring, keys and lens cover by yourself. Otherwise the sealing of the waterproof casing may be affected. b) Do not take the casing into environments of corrosive gas such as strong acid or alkali and keep it away from chemicals and other corrosives. c) Do not expose the waterproof casing in to high (above 50°C) or low (-10°C) temperatures for long period of time to avoid casing deformation. d) Do not expose the casing to direct sunlight for a long time to avoid damages of the water tightness. e) Before using the casing, it's recommended to check whether the seal rings are in good condition, whether there are foreign objects at the sealing joints, whether the casing is well sealed and tightly fixed. f) After the usage in water, please clean and flush the casing by fresh water and then use a dry cloth to wipe the surface and put the device in a dry and ventilated place. 40 2. Instructions for using the double-sided foam sticker a) Please choose a suitable curved surface or flat surface to make sure the double-sided foam sticker can be fixed properly. b) Please make sure the surface is clean and smooth before affixing the double-sided foam sticker. c) Under low temperature (under 20°C), it is suggested to heat up the surface (maybe use a hairdryer or something else) before sticking. 3.
