Using Media Player 3.1 USB Enclosure – Usage as external storage device 1. Connect the power adapter to MM-VP35US and power it on by pushing the power button. 2. Connect the USB cable between the media player and your computer. 3. When your hard disk is detected by your computer, LED is bright Note: If you plug the Media Player into computer with USB, media file playback function will not work. 3.2 Media File Playback Mode – Usage as Media Player 1. Connect the Video & Audio cable between Media Player and TV/Monitor. 2. Plug in the power adapter and power on your TV/Monitor. 3. Push the POWER button. 4. Remember to change the TV mode to AV or YPbPr mode. Note: If the video files and subtitle files are separated, put them into the same folder. Starting Quick Media Play 6.1 Main Function Select Use the UP/DOWN or RIGHT/LIFT navigation buttons, to move through the selection icon and press ENTER to select. The selected function is shown in the middle of the screen. Use the navigation buttons to move up and down the options and press ENTER to select. The Information Row can still be toggled on or off during Photo Slideshow using the INFORMATION action bottom of the screen. (Factory default setting is ON) .Selecting OFF will turn off Help Row. Auto Start Setup Screen .Select PHOTO-MUSIC will start the automatic playback of a photo with music show. The files play sequentially, in an alphabetical order based on the filenames. You can change the operation of the Harrier at this time by pressing the ENTER key on the remote control –this will cause the action button row to appear at the bottom of the screen. .Select PHOTO-VIDEO will start the automatic playback of a photo and video show. The video clips play with the sound tracks associated with them. Pressing any key on the remote control will disable the automatic playback and jump to the main menu. .Selecting OFF disables automatic playback mode after power on the device. Thumbnail Digest Setup Screen z Select ON will display the photo thumbnails using the original thumbnail size in the device. This process will make displaying thumbnails of large photo in a short time. (Factory default mode in ON). z Select Best fit will display the photo thumbnails by decoding the photo and scaling down to fit into the entire display area allocated for the thumbnail. This process may take a longer time if the photos are of high resolutions. z Selecting OFF will display the photo thumbnails by decoding the photo and scaling down to fit into the display area allocated for the thumbnail. This process may take a longer time if the photos are of high resolutions. 25 F A N T E C M M - V P 3 5 U S M e d i a P l a y e r U s e r M a n u a l 6.4.2 Photo Display Size Photo Display Size Setup Screen z Selecting Wide ZOOM 16:9 will display the photo to enlarge, either to the top and bottom or the left and right sides. If the photo is taller than it is wide (portrait aspect ratio) it will enlarger to the top and bottom of the screen. If the photo is wider than it is tall (landscape) it will enlarge to the left and right sides. z Selecting Best fit will display photos in the original image’s aspect ratio (no cropping) used with most LCD TV displays. Use the navigation buttons to move through the options and press ENTER to select. Slideshow Setup Screen .Selecting Manual will give full control of the photo slideshow timing to the user. The user will need to use ( page up) and (page down) keys of the remote control to scroll through the photos stored in the the device. .Selecting AUTO will initiate the photo slideshow after a full screen photo display has started (Factory default mode is AUTO). 27 F A N T E C M M - V P 3 5 U S M e d i a P l a y e r U s e r M a n u a l 6.4.4 Interval Time The Interval Time Setup is shown below. Use the navigation buttons to move through the options and press ENTER to select. Interval Time Setup Screen .Selecting 1 SECOND will display the photo for 1 second before switching to another photo. .Selecting 3, 5 or 10 SECONDS displays for 3, 5, or 10 seconds before switching to another photo. (Factory default is 3 seconds). ATTENTION: Large photo files take more time to load. Transition Setup Screen .Selecting FULL SCREEN will display the full photo at once. (Factory default mode is Wide/HDTV) z Selecting NORMAL will fix the video output to VGA mode with a 4:3 aspect ratio. 31 F A N T E C M M - V P 3 5 U S M e d i a P l a y e r U s e r M a n u a l 6.5.2 MPEG4 Subtitle Screen MPEG4 Subtitle Setup Screen .Selecting ON will display the MPEG4 subtitle to be displayed (Factory default mode in ON). .Selecting OFF will turn off the MPEG4 subtitle. NOTE: The subtitle text file (for example, abc.srt) must be in the same directory as the MPEG file (for example, abc.avi) for the subtitle to be displayed. 32 F A N T E C M M - V P 3 5 U S M e d i a P l a y e r U s e r M a n u a l 6.5.3 Subtitle Language Subtitle Language Setup Screen .Select the subtitle language from the menu, the one you choose would become default setting. Use the navigation buttons to move through the options and press ENTER to select. .Please copy the new firmware file to your hard disk. (*.rom) .Select Upgrade to enable the upgrade procedure. .When the upgrade screen is gone, it means firmware upgrade has already finished. ATTENTION: Do not turn off the power when firmware upgrade procedures are under processing. Digital Photo Display The digital photo display is initiated when the PHOTO option is selected from the Main Function Select screen. Photo Thumbnails Screen NOTE: In the digital photo display mode, the Photo Thumbnails Screen will appear. All the photos found in the device will be display in continuous pages of photo thumbnails. Use the navigation buttons on the remote control to move through the thumbnails in the thumbnail page. Highlight either the first or the last thumbnail and use the LEFT or RIGHT button on the remote (as indicated by the text in the Help Row at the bottom of the screen) to access the action buttons. Then use the and action buttons at the bottom of the screen to jump to the previous or next page of thumbnails. 36 F A N T E C M M - V P 3 5 U S M e d i a P l a y e r U s e r M a n u a l 8. Digital Music Playback The digital music playback is initiated when the MUSIC option is selected from the Main Function Select screen. Music Library Screen NOTE: If the Auto Start feature in the SLIDESHOW SETUP menu is set to ON, the automatic playback of a photo show at Power-Up will be in effect and the Music Library Screen will not be visible. The music files will play in the background and will play sequentially, in an alphabetical order based on the filenames. In the digital music playback mode, the Music Library Screen will appear. All the music files found in the selected device will be displayed in a continuous list of music files. Use the navigation buttons on the remote control to move through the music files. The highlighted music starts to play automatically. Use the LEFT button on the remote to access the action buttons at the bottom of the screen. Digital Video Playback The digital video playback is initiated when the VIDEO option is selected from the Main Function Select screen. Video Thumbnails Screen In the digital video playback mode, the Video Thumbnails Screen will appear. All the video found in the device will be displayed in continuous pages of video thumbnails. Use the navigation buttons on the remote control to move through the thumbnails in the thumbnail page. Highlight either the first or the last thumbnail and use the LEFT or RIGHT button on the remote (as indicated by the text on the bottom of the screen) to access the action buttons. File Library Browsing The File Library Browsing function is initiated by selecting FILE from the Home Page screen. All supported content of a device can be accessed using this function. The File Library Screen will appear showing the contents of the currently selected device. File Library Screen Use the navigation buttons on the remote control to move through the different files. The highlighted file starts automatically. Use the LEFT button on the remote to access the action buttons at the bottom of the screen. Then use the if required. DVD Navigation Use this function, must be in the File Library Browsing mode. DVD Navigation Choose the folder with the DVD content (AUDIO TS and VIDEO TS folder) and highlight it. It’s recommended to create a single folder for each DVD movie. Use the LEFT button on the remote to access the action buttons at the bottom of the screen. Then use action button to enter the function. 40
