FARM IN THE CAVE International Theatre Studio WHISTLEBLOWERS TECHNICAL RIDER SPACE / STAGE: Dimensions: 10m width, 14m depth, 5m visible height to the fly bars We need access to the water faucet not more than 20m from back part of the stage. Black box: The stage is completely open without backdrop and side wings. (Some masking can optionally be used in some cases) The stage must be with clean and dark (preferably black) wooden floor with 0º slope, must be clear and without any protruding metal or wooden parts. A rake stage is NOT acceptable. The floor must be allowed to screw into. Point of view: The Company considers cancelling some seats, due to possible loss of scene contents. E.g. the floor has to be visible from all seats. That’s why we always recommend checking this point, different in each venue, by a preparatory visit. We know that this question always depends on production lines of each space and we understand that cancelling any seats has to be finally considered together. However, the company advises to deal with this issue in such a way that no spectator would be unsighted. Number of Audience: MAXIMUM 500 people There must not be any disturbing sounds (dimmers, sounds of the street) or light (daylight, too strong exit lights on stage) in the space. The air condition or heating should be switched on or off upon company’s request. The dimensions and weight of the largest piece of the set is: 3000x2000mm/40kg Loading access: The Company needs an access for a non articulated truck 10.5m long x 3m wide x 4m high and 7.5 tons weight. Powerful main system L/R front of stage – full range quality speakers with subwoofers (MeyerSound, d & b, LAcoustics, Nexo, D and B, Adamson…) power adapted to the venue, this system should cover all audience area. Extra pair of nearfield speakers as a front fill system ready to use. In case there is a big high balcony or a deep audience space we need a delayed line of extra speakers for the main L/R system. If there is distance between L/R system more than cca 15 metres – hung up centre cluster should be ready to use.
The position of all speakers depends on the venue and will be decided upon set-up by our sound engineer. MONITORS: • 2 - 4 powerful quality speakers (Meyer Sound, d & b, L-Acoustics,…), sent on 2 outputs. • Pair of monitor speakers hung up on the back side of the stage, send on auxes. • Pair of monitor speakers Stage right for musician. • 1x monitor speaker behind the prop wall on the stage CABLES: • lots of quality cables for connection all equipment. Optionally 3 walkie-talkies If your venue does not coincide with the specified technical requirements we ask you to send us your options as soon as possible to evaluate the possibilities of adapting our set to be able to carry out our show. STAFF REQUIRED 4 people for loading and unloading (not necessary if the theatre stage hands and electricians load and unload) 4 stage hands during setup and break down. 2 electricians during set up and strike down (one of them has to know the control desk perfectly). 1 sound technician during set up, rehearsals and strike down. 1 stage hand during performance. 1 electrician during rehearsals and performance (has to know the control desk perfectly). 1 sound technician during sound check and performance. Note: Wherever the loading access is not directly onto the stage two more people will be necessary. During the time of sound check and rehearsal we require that only the people which are needed are in the space. We will ask all the staff who is not working during those times to stay outside of the venue. DRESSING ROOMS 2 Dressing rooms with enough capacity for 7 people equiped with WC, chairs, coatracks, showers with warm water, one socket 220V minimum and one mirror minimum. With direct acces to the stage. OTHERS 10L bottled water for set up. 30L bottled water for perfoming day. ORGANIZATION OF WORK SET up time: 17 hours (including unloading). Reharsal time 8 hours before performance (lights and sound must be ready by this time) That means 25 hours total STRIKE down time: 5 hours (including loading). Note: This is time needed under normal conditions and is always agreed with company technician staff. In case of modifications of this rider, the time required for set up and strike down will vary always depending on the characteristics of the venue. The time when to clean the stage is decided by the company The house opens only when approval is given by the company No other performance can be staged on the same stage on the day of the performance unless agreed beforehand with the production and the technical team of Farm in the Cave.
