FASTLANE CANDIES tech worksheet FOH SYSTEM • • • An adequate (in relation to venue dimensions and capacity) FOH system must be installed. It must at least provide 100dB (flat response!) at FOH desk, amps at 2/3. FOH systems from Electro Voice, Dynacord, Meyer Sound, Nexo, C. Heil, L-Acoustics, d&b, dB Technologies or HK Audio are preferred. FOH MIXING DESK • • • • • • Desk type → Analog → Digital Midas are preferred. No Behringer, Mackie, etc. Soundcraft (Vi series at least), Yamaha (LS9 at least, no 01V, 02R or DM2000!), DiGiCo or Innovason. Please contact us in case of a digital desk with a MADI or networked stage patch as our patch requires 3 lines inputs (TRS or XLR) @ FOH desk (on local inputs)! ADAT/AES + WC is also possible... Inputs See “patch” document Channel High-pass + phase + 48V + 4 bands-EQ (semi or full-parametric) Subgroup Minimum 2 stereo subgroups (and 1 stereo COMP available to be inserted) Inserts Insert point available on each channel, subgroup and master or onboard inserts See “patch” document + 1 stereo COMP available to be inserted on a stereo subgroup AUX → Without MON desk 6 pre fader AUX + 3 post fader AUX (see “patch” document) → With MON desk 2 pre fader AUX + 3 post fader AUX as well! BOTH PRE FADERS AUX BUSSES MUST BE PATCHED BACK TO MONITORING DESK AND INPUTED ON A MONO CHANNEL TO BE SENT TO MONITOR MIXES! (see “patch” document) – – – – – Please keep table-high (!) free space for the mixer's rack and laptop. Provide a dBmeter and a spectral analyser at the mixing desk. An intercom is required between MON and FOH sound control. The FOH mixing desk/sound control must be stereo-centered and at audience height (or max 30cm raised). Never place it under a balcony, a tent or against a wall. If it is covered, please install legs drops on top and at the back of the mix position. Distance between stage and sound control must equal speakers distance or closer. The FOH sound control must be barricaded and inaccessible to the crowd. All wedges and amps should be of the same brand and series! Our preference goes to Nexo, d&b, dB Technologies, L-Acoustics, Martin Audio or Meyer Sound system. 15” speakers if possible. 12” speakers at least! Processed/active systems are preferred. WARNING: 2 mono lines coming from the FOH desk must be patched in the MON desk as additional sources (LAPTOP sequences + LAPTOP click)! Those 2 lines allow signals coming from the FOH desk only (3 lines from mixer's laptop) to be sent to monitor mixes. All instruments/lines mentioned in our patch must be patched in the MON desk! If it is not possible, check what you can remove with the sound engineer or the musicians. MON MIXING DESK INSERTS → See “patch” document • Graphic EQ 31-band EQ on each MON/AUX busses. In case of an outdoor stage, it should be fully covered: roof, sides and back! The drum kit must be installed on, at least (!), two (2) “2 x 1m” risers. The risers height should be about 30cm. The risers must be stable, safe, height-lockable and interdependent. In case of rolling risers, brakes are required!
