To send a fax to a fax number belonging to the University of Cyprus, you have to type only the 4-digit internal extension (e.g. 5003). To send a fax to an external number, you have to include the prefix 9 and then the 8-digit fax number (9xxxxxxxx). 2. Which file formats are supported for attachments (word, excel, pdf)? Is it possible for me to be notified whenever I receive a new fax? Each fax number can be associated with an e-mail account where all the incoming faxes will be delivered. You may ask your system administrator to associate your fax account with the e-mail account you will indicate. 4. Can more than one person have access to the same fax number / account? Yes, provided they have the required account information (username, password) 5. How do I know that a fax has been sent indeed (is there anything respective to the send report that fax machines produce?) An “OK” indicator will be present on the fax sending window. In addition to that, the date and time when the fax was sent will be shown at the bottom section of each fax page sent. 6. Can I send a fax to a group of people? Yes. You may send a fax to a group of recipients provided that you have created the group in the application. Details on how to create and use a group can be found at “Fax Service User Guide” (click on the link to follow it), which is available at the Information Systems Service website, under the section User Guides. 7. When the “No answer at this number” message appears, will the fax be send even if we close the application? This message appears when the fax number to which you are trying to send a fax is busy. The application will continue the attempts to send the fax even if you close it. 8. Can I change the password I was given for the application? Yes, and it is highly recommended to change the password for enhanced security reasons. Details on how to change your password can be found at the “Fax Service User Guide” (click on the link to follow it), which is available at the Information Systems Service website, under the section User Guides. 9. Can I send a fax when I am outside of the University’s premises? Do I have to connect with VPN? You can send faxes from any location where an Internet connection is available by logging in to the Fax Web Utility. The link for the Fax Web Utility is http://faxsrv.ucy.ac.cy/webutil . Can I receive the faxes in my email inbox? Yes. Each fax number can be associated with up to two e-mail addresses to which the incoming faxes will be delivered.
