TM FiberDefender TM FD525R Simultaneous-Point Intrusion Detection at the Speed of Light When you need a tested, proven security system that senses multiple-point intrusion attempts—even if they occur simultaneously! • Continuous perimeter protection • Immune to harsh environmental effects • High accuracy, low nuisance alarm rate • Flexible design • High reliability • Cost efficient The Fiber SenSys FD525R: Simultaneous-Point Intrusion Detection at the Speed of Light The latest in intrusion detection technology is now available from Fiber SenSys—perimeter protection capable of sensing simultaneous multiple-point intrusion attempts. When your property or critical resources Photograph of FD525R APU and relay module (RLM-525) require the best protection available, the lowest nuisance alarm rates in the industry, and the highest reliability, you need the new FD525R Rack-Mounted Alarm Processing Unit (APU) from Fiber SenSys. This all fiber-optic intrusion detection system is capable of detecting simultaneous intrusion attempts on all zones along your perimeter. You’ll know instantly when an intruder – or a group of intruders – is attempting to breach your perimeter. The FD525R is designed to fit in a standard 19” rack and occupies only 2U (3.5”) of rack height. Fiber SenSys has an optional RLM-525TM Relay Module for alarm and fault relay outputs for up to 25 zones. The Relay Module can be mounted on the rear of the APU or up to 25 feet away, connected via a CAT-5 cable supplied with the Relay Module. With up to 25 zones of coverage and as accurate as 1 meter resolution (depending on the zone length), one FD525R uses the power of fiber optics to identify intrusion attempts along a perimeter up to 5 kilometers in length. When one or more zones are breached, the system instantly identifies the zone of each intrusion attempt, while continuing to monitor the rest of the perimeter. The FD525R uses a convenient USB port for communications. Accurate and reliable, the FD525R system provides vital time to react effectively to intrusion or attack Our proven digital signal processing gives you the flexibility you need to design a configuration that works for your application. With the FD525R, you can fine tune each zone to address varying environmental factors— for example, traffic, railway, or wilderness—effectively screening out false alarms and maximizing alarm accuracy for the entire perimeter. Plus, the remote capability of the FD525R allows you to install your security system up to five kilometers away. Unlike other perimeter security systems currently on the market, the FD525R is not vulnerable to intrusion “masking,” when only one intrusion attempt can be detected at a time. In those systems, the signal from the first attempt masks other coincident signals. The FD525R uses an advanced optical design and processing algorithms that allow the system to detect simultaneous intrusion attempts by equating them with zones along the perimeter. This innovative technology detects intrusion attempts where and when each one happens, making the Fiber SenSys system extremely difficult to defeat. The FD525R system detects and reports intrusion attempts anywhere along the perimeter fence with superior sensitivity and reliability, and identifies the zone where the breach is occurring. This information is graphically displayed and immediately communicated for prompt incident response. Applications • Airports and airstrips • Military installations • Government facilities • Prisons • Nuclear and Chemical plants, refineries • Estates and heritage properties • Power stations and reservoirs • Stockyards The Fiber-Optic Advantage With conventional microwave or coaxial systems, electromagnetic and radio-frequency radiation can disrupt the sensor signal, causing false alarms or masking real ones. Fiber SenSys systems are based on sophisticated fiber-optic technology that is not susceptible to EMI/RFI, making our systems the most reliable, accurate, and tamperproof available. Because the fiber-optic sensors use the power of light, the FD525R can be installed to be completely safe for deployment at chemical or ammunition depots, electrical substations, areas prone to lightning strikes, or any location where the use of electricity is a concern. How the System Works 100 m Maximum Sensor Zone Length 100 m The FD525R works with an insensitive backbone up to five kilometers long, and up to 25 individual sensor cables. Each sensor cable is attached to your fence, wall, or other type of perimeter barrier. If an intruder touches or disturbs the barrier, the FD525R immediately detects a change in the pattern of the light conducted from that sensor, resulting in an alarm. Your operator instantly receives a message identifying the location of the intrusion attempt.
