Introduction Features This device is a 2/4-port compact size KVM switch. It allows you to control and access 2/4 computers using only one keyboard, video and mouse. In addition, SP214C with audio and microphone switching function can control the audio sets on the 4 computers using one speaker and microphone. Make sure that all computers are connected to the KVM There are two ways to redefine hotkey sequence, hotkey and the push-button. The hotkey sequence is defined as [ScrLk]* + [ScrLk] * + Command key(s)* in default. User may redefine Scroll Lock, Caps Lock, Esc, F12 or Num Lock as replacement. Switch and their peripherals are in power-off state. 2. Connect the shared PS/2 keyboard, mouse and monitor to the KVM switch. 3. Connect the shared speaker set and microphone to the KVM switch (SP214C only). 3. Connect each of your computers to the KVM switch, using appropriate KVM and/or Audio/Mic cables. 4. The KVM Switch should be automatically power-on with computers connected. 5. Power up the connected computers one by one then the keyboard and mouse will be recognized. Now, the KVM switch can work normally. 1. 2. Push-Button Control 3. 1. This KVM switch allows direct control by the push buttons on the device. Simply press the button to switch the PC port. PC console port switching and audio/Mic port switching (if available) are bound together in default. It will switch the console and audio/Mic simultaneously. 2. The binding of PC and audio/mic port switching can be enable/disable using the hotkey sequence. [ScrLk] + [ScrLk] + Q to disable the binding 4. [ScrLk] + [ScrLk] + W to enable the binding 5. Hit [ScrLk] + [ScrLk] + H, then two beeps signal readiness for new preceding sequence selection. It also can be enabled by pressing and holding down the last front-panel button (Button 2 on SP212C or Button 4 on SP214C) until two beeps alarm, and then releasing the button. Select and press the key that will be used for the preceding sequence. The device will beep while it accepts the settings. Then the device will execute the hotkey commands when new preceding sequence is pressed. The alternative is to press the last push-button (button 2 for SP212C/button 4 for SP214C) for over 3 seconds to set the KVM switch into hotkey configuration mode. Then select and press the key that is going to be the preceding sequence. Each keystroke within a hotkey sequence should be pressed within 2 seconds. Otherwise, the hotkey sequence will not be valid. For detailed Hotkey sequences and their corresponding functional commands, please refer to the Hot Key Control table below. Note that (x) denotes a number key for the selected port number (x = 1~2 or 1~4). You can use either the top row number keys or the number pad for the hotkey commands. Joint-select PC & Audio/Mic port, if binding is enabled. This feature is valid for SP214C only. Use hotkey command ScrLk + ScrLk + Q to bind keyboard, mouse, video and audio/Mic. Or, use hotkey command ScrLk + ScrLk + 3. W Faster and Easier Networks to remove the binding. Hotkey convention: The hotkey notation ScrLk + ScrLk + (key) , denotes that you should hit the individual key 4. consecutively one at a time, not simultaneously.
