IS5 REV.06102016 Page—1 Introduction The iDS6W is an intelligent secure 4-port RS-232/422/485 to 802.11b/g WLAN, with speeds up to 54Mbps, and a 2 port Ethernet LAN device server. It supports the standard features, such as a TCP/IP interface and versatile operation modes: Virtual Com, Serial Tunnel, TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP. In addition, the iDS Manager software utility allows the configuration of multiple devices and mappings of Virtual Com. The NAT Router Pass-Through features, DDNS, and PPPoE, making it convenient for administrators to configure the device servers remotely through the NAT router from different IP domains or via the Internet. The iDS6W can simultaneously transfer data to 5 redundant host PC’s to avoid Ethernet connectivity breakdown or any host PC failures. The iDS6W supports security features such as HTTPS, SSH, SSL encryption, and 802.1X to assuring secure data transmission. The iDS6W provides dual redundant power inputs; 10-48VDC, 36-72VDC, or a universal 88-370VDC/85264VAC with a single 10-48VDC backup for continuous operation, and a wide operating temperature, -40°C to +85°C, in an IP-40 housing. The iDS6W is the best suited where the high demand for secure serial to WLAN critical data communication is required in the harshest of environments.
