The interactive touchscreen, the brains of your system, provides you with real-time system-status information; tools to arm, disarm and manage your system; and access to additional applications and web content.
The Security Status Header is used to arm and disarm the system.
Displays a list of Settings options to customize your touchscreen, including the screen display background, access codes and time zone. To manage your system and widgets, go to the Settings widget and enter your fourdigit Keypad Code. See the user guide for more details.

2 Passcodes and Passwords
There are three pieces of confidential information that you create to use the system. Write them down on something other than this Getting Started Guide and keep them in a safe, secure place. Keypad Codes You enter a four-digit Keypad Code to arm and disarm the system via the touchscreen, optional wireless keypad, web portal or mobile app. • Guest codes can arm or disarm the system but do not have access to full system functionality. • Arm Only codes can arm the system but cannot disarm it or perform any other function. • A Duress code disarms the system similar to the master Keypad Code, but sends a silent alarm to the Central Monitoring Station for immediate police dispatch. Go to the Security widget and select Keypad Codes to add, edit or delete codes. Central Station Passcode (Secret Word) Your Secret Word is used to cancel a dispatch by the Central Monitoring Station in case of a false alarm. • Go to the Security widget and select Advanced Settings > Secret Word to enter or edit your Secret Word. Note: Make your Secret Word easy to remember, pronounce and spell. Web Portal/Mobile Username and Password Manage your system from the online web portal or mobile app for smartphones and tablet computers. • Go to https://portal.coxhomesecurity.com to set up or change your username and password.

Bypassing Zones During Arming Before you can arm your system from any device, all zones must be cleared, bypassed or trouble acknowledged. You can temporarily bypass zones if you want to arm your system, e.g., with a monitored window open. The zone will be reset when the system is disarmed. Note: Refer to the User Guide for more information about arming and disarming your system.
4 Rules
You can set up Rules through the Web Portal to perform actions in response to specified trigger events or at specified times. The actions can include notification via email or text message (SMS) when a trigger event happens (or when an expected event fails to happen). Or you can take an action like turning lights on when triggered by a door being opened. You can also maintain a schedule for actions like setting the thermostat or turning lights on at predetermined times while you are away. Schedule You can set certain actions based on specified dates, times or date ranges, such as turning the lights on at 8 p.m. and turning them off at 10 p.m. on Saturdays. Event You can set certain actions based on when a specified event occurs, such as taking a picture when the door is opened between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. Non-Event You can set certain actions based on when a specified event does not occur, such as if the front door does not open between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays when the kids are expected home. Note: Refer to the User Guide on how to set up and modify rules.

6 Our Responses to Alarm Signals When your security system sends an alarm notification to Cox’s Central Monitoring Station, we will respond based on the type and priority of the alarm. Note: It is suggested that you add 1-800-633-2677 to the contacts list on your phone(s) in order to recognize it as an incoming call from the Cox Central Monitoring Station during an alarm notification call. 7 Maintaining Your System Testing the System It’s important to test your system on a regular basis (monthly recommended). You should test your touchscreen as well as connectivity to the Internet and the Central Monitoring Station. Note: Please be sure to contact us at 1-855-261-2501 before beginning your test to avoid a false alarm signal. To test your system, go to the Settings widget and select the Security > Alarm Test menu. If Send Test Alarm Messages is enabled, the test sends a message to the Central Station. Testing Broadband and Cellular Connectivity On your touchscreen, go to the Settings widget and select the Advanced Settings > Connectivity menu. Tap the Test Connectivity button and click Next to start the test. This may take up to four minutes. Replacing Batteries When your batteries are running low, your touchscreen will notify you. Please contact Cox Communications at 1-877-404-2568 to have your batteries replaced. If you have elected the Equipment Service Plan, this service is free of charge. Using the Equipment Service Plan If you purchased the Cox Home Security Equipment Service Plan at the time of sale, your Cox-installed equipment is protected in case of hardware failure. In addition, an annual Preventive Maintenance Inspection is provided at a 50% discount. To schedule your annual inspection, please call Cox at 1-877-404-2568. Router maintenance Disconnecting cords or resetting the router will cause disruptions to your home security system. Please contact Cox Communications prior to making any changes at 1-877-404-2568 or go to cox.com/security-router. Notes
