WHY SHRED? Information theft occurs when an individual’s or company’s personal or confidential information is obtained and used by another person without their knowledge. Identity fraud happens when criminals use this information fraudulently to obtain credit, goods or other services in that person’s or company’s name. HOW DOES IDENTITY FRAUD HAPPEN? Every day you deal with thousands of pieces of information: reports, business plans, financial data, customer pricing, names and addresses, credit card details. Identity thieves will “raid” your rubbish bin to steal this information – they may even steal your bin bags to rummage through them at their own leisure. It’s faster, easier and can be even more lucrative than burglary. To a fraudster the information you throw out is worth its weight in gold. Information theft is one of the fastest growing crimes and continues to rise at an astounding rate. It’s not only individuals that are putting themselves at risk – but also businesses and organisations putting their customers and employees at risk by not disposing of personal information securely.

NOISE LEVEL AT CAPACITY The amount of noise produced by the shredder (in decibels) whilst in use at full sheet capacity. RUN TIME The length of time the shredder will run before the thermal overload protection feature is triggered allowing the motor to cooldown before it can be operated again. SHEET CAPACITY Number of sheets that can be fed into a shredder in one go. This value is calculated using 70gsm A4 paper. SHRED SPEED The average speed paper is fed through the shredder, measured in metres per minute. THERMAL OVERLOAD PROTECTION Protects the shredder motor from overheating and lengthens the product life. THROAT WIDTH The throat or entry width of the opening into which the paper is fed. This determines the size of the paper that can be used without folding it.

TERMINOLOGY
AUTO SHUT OFF Automatically shuts down the laminator if it has been inactive for a certain amount of time, ensuring operation, even if user forgets machine is running. ACTIVE COOLING SYSTEM An internal fan cools the laminator down quickly to enable user to open the laminator for maintenance. CLEAR PATH ANTI JAM PROTECTION A unique ultra-low friction system inside the laminator provides a clear path for the documents and ensures that the laminator does not jam. COLD SETTING Enables the use of self adhesive pouches which do not require heat. ENTRY WIDTH The feed width of a laminator is an indication of the maximum width of paper that can be laminated, A4, A3, A2, etc. HEATING SYSTEM There are two types of system available with Fellowes laminators; Heated rollers technology is where the laminator rollers are heated externally. Hot shoe roller technology is where the lamination rollers are heated internally, which is the most efficient and reliable technology because it allows for better temperature distribution.
HEAT UP TIME The amount of time required for the laminator to reach the appropriate temperature for lamination. LAMINATION SPEED The speed at which the machine rollers rotate; expressed in cm/mn. MACHINE WARRANTY The length of time the full machine and all its parts are under warranty NUMBER OF ROLLERS Two roller laminators incorporate only 2 heated rollers. Four roller laminators incorporate 2 heated rollers but also 2 feed rollers, which provides a higher quality of lamination. PHOTOCAPABLE Laminator can laminate both printed digital photos and standard photos. RELEASE MECHANISM Mechanical system that allows removal of a document from the laminator to re-center. REVERSE MECHANISM Motorized system allows user to reverse the direction of the laminator's rollers to remove and re-center document and pouch. USER CUSTOM SETTING Adjustable speed and temperature control allows the machine to be fine-tuned according to the type or thickness of pouch being laminated.
