Fibre Extender System • Allows remote location of Link downconverters via fibre-optic cable • Keeps Link receivers at main OB site for ease of monitoring and operational flexibility • Supplies power to downconverters via BNC cables • Remote (TX) unit self-powering up to 2 Km when using SMPTE HDTV hybrid fibre cable • Remote (TX) unit up to 20 Km when using directly powered Fibre Optic Wireless Camera Extender System for remote Antennae The VISLINK Wireless Camera System based on the L1500 and the Lynx L2174, is the most versatile wireless camera system on the market. The L1292 & L1282 allow the receive antennae and downconverters to be linked by up to a 20 kilometres of SMPTE Hybrid or Single Mode, away from the receiver. As the full band is sent over the fibre, all the cameraS in the band can be received on one fibre link. The L1292 & L1282 Fibre Extender system is a flexible, ‘plug-andplay’ system allowing users to extend antennas/downconverters via standard Fibre. Link has recognised the requirement to integrate and designed the L1292 & L1282 to allow the growing install base of fibre with outside broadcast users and many prewired large sporting venues. The system consists of two units: L1292 Remote Unit - connected to two standard Link down converters. These can be any of the frequency bands currently supported by the Link receive system (1.45GHz to 8.1GHz). The L1282 Base Unit can provide power up Hybrid Fibre to the L1292 which in turn supplies power to the two downconverters. The unit is housed in a robust, weatherproof enclosure designed to meet the demands of the toughest OB environments. L1282 Base Unit – supplies power to the remote unit. Bargraph meters provide easy indication of available cable length and alarm indicators display the status of the remote unit. The RF signals are then fed into the Lynx L2174 or the L2132/4 receivers in the normal way.
