1. Important warnings Before installing and operating the flat printer unit 97 read the following safety instructions: The flat printer unit 97 is exclusively intended to print labels. It must be controlled only by a Collamat® 3600, 6600 or 8600. For the connection of older models please contact Collamat Stralfors AG. Install the flat printer unit 97 only by a trained specialist considering the specific national regulations of: prevention of accidents stability construction of electrical and mechanical systems noise suppression. Take notice of the technical data of the flat printer unit 97. Especially the environment conditions must be observed. Operate the flat printer unit 97 only by trained personnel. In case of non-authorized modifications, the guarantee will become void. Before installing non-Collamat® accessories, please contact the competent technical consultant.
2. Danger advices The safety symbols and danger advices on the flat printer unit 97 and in these Operating Instructions must be strictly observed. Before connecting the flat printer unit 97 to the Collamat® or switching it off, the Collamat® must be switched off. Flat printer unit 97 and Collamat® must be opened only by authorized personnel. Before opening the flat printer unit 97 disconnect it from the mains. There must be no loose or mobile objects in the operation zone of the stamp unit. The operators must protect themselves from defects of bearing with suitable measures. Putting into operation after mounting must be made only on a stand. Otherwise stability will not be assured. Interventions into the running machine are not allowed. Follow the danger advices in the Collamat® Operating Instructions.

4. General information The special features of the flat printer unit 97: rugged easy handling due to modular design rapid readjustment to other fonts highest printing capacity reliable and exact latest EMC technology synchronous motor with reduced wear stand-alone design high economy due to low costs The modular design allows a uniform securing of the peripherals on a modular rail. Input and output signals are compatible with Monitor, Collamat® Labeller and Adapter of Collamat Stralfors. The high printing rate is not reached by other printing technologies.
5. The flat printer unit 97 The labeller must be opened only by trained personnel. It contains no parts to be maintained by the user.
The labels must be threaded only with switched off flat printer unit 97. There is the DANGER that parts of the body could be squashed/hit when releasing the printing process.
The labeller contains live parts. Danger of contact due to high voltages in the components.
The flat printer unit 97 contains components sensible to electrostatic voltages EMC). Unprotected contact may destroy them.

Adjustment nut
Setting the counterpressure: Counterpressure and parallelism are set during mounting to medium paper thickness. But if the counterpressure should be set, turn the respective nuts using a 7 mm socket wrench. Clockwise = lower Anticlockwise = higher
5.8. Settings in horizontal mounting position If the flat printer unit 97 is mounted in horizontal position (electronic system under the printing unit), engage (tension) the tension spring for the motor change-over in the associated hole.
5.9. Connecting the flat printer unit 97 The connection of the flat printer unit 97 is described in the Technical Manual.

6. Maintenance and cleaning The flat printer unit 97 does not need maintenance to a large extent. After use, however, clean the unit removing paper dust, adhesive residual and colouring matter residuals. Do not use affecting or corrosive agent as cleaning agent. To avoid solving the lubricant when cleaning, prevent penetration of cleaning agent into the assemblies.
