FLIR Systems thermal imaging cameras for security and surveillance applications FLIR Systems is serving a wide variety of markets with a full range of thermal imaging cameras. Thermal imaging cameras produce a clear image in the darkest of nights. They do not need any light whatsoever. Multiple markets have discovered the benefits that thermal imaging has to offer. The automotive market has discovered that thermal imaging is an excellent tool for driver vision enhancement. In the maritime market thermal imaging is used for night time navigation and other maritime applications. The ability to see clearly in total darkness, through light fog and smoke has numerous other, sometimes life saving, applications. Search and rescue, finding people in smoke filled rooms, ... thermal imaging can help with this. Another important market that has discovered the benefits of thermal imaging is the security and surveillance market. About 3 years ago, the entrance of FLIR Systems in this demanding market started a real thermal imaging revolution. Never before had thermal imaging been so affordable. The FLIR Systems SR-Series opened up the market. Priced extremely affordable they quickly found their way to many enthusiastic users that did not consider thermal imaging before. Ports, airports, warehouses, nuclear facilities and many others started to incorporate thermal imaging cameras in their new or existing security networks. The PTZ-35x140 MS, a Multi-Sensor system combining a thermal imaging camera with a daylight/lowlight camera also has proven to be a success. Just as the SR-Series it was included in many security networks. Launching revolutionary products Today FLIR is again launching new revolutionary products. The new SR-, F-, PT- and D-Series have been developed after a thorough market study and numerous interviews with potential customers. These interviews revealed that there is an important market for thermal imaging cameras that can easily be installed in a
TCP/IP network. The F-, PT- and D-Series are the answer to this demand. But interviews also revealed that there is still a demand for cameras like the SR-Series that can easily be integrated in legacy networks. As demand grows, clients are also asking for more choice. That is exactly why all cameras come with a choice of image quality and even more important, a wide variety of lenses. Depending on your needs, there is now a FLIR thermal imaging camera available for every security application. FLIR is also launching the first thermal imaging cameras that are 100% dedicated to security and surveillance applications with a 640 x 480 detector. The F- and PT-Series bring unseen image quality to the security and surveillance markets. And there is more. Thanks to economies of scale, FLIR Systems is able to market these new thermal imaging cameras at extremely competitive prices. All these new products will further open the market for thermal imaging cameras for security and surveillance applications. And again, all products bear the FLIR logo.

FLIR Systems even further improves its successful SR-Series range of thermal imaging cameras Thermal imaging cameras are becoming more and more popular for security and surveillance applications. FLIR’s SR-Series range of fixed mount thermal imaging cameras has definitely contributed to the success. Extremely affordable, easy to install and to use, they have been incorporated in numerous security networks. Today FLIR Systems is launching a new version of these successful cameras.
Easy to use Equipped with an “athermal lens”, the SR-Series are able to maintain focus no matter what the environmental temperature is. There is no need for user adjustments. Once it is installed, all SR-Series thermal imaging cameras will deliver a sharp, focused image.
Excellent range performance Longer lenses have a narrower field of view and allow the user to see farther. With the SR-304 you will be able to detect a man-sized target at a distance of over 2 km.
No maintenance needed. The absence of a motorized focus mechanism prevents mechanical breakdowns. The SR-Series do not need any maintenance whatsoever. This is guarantees an extremely low total cost of ownership.
As of today, although they still look the same from the outside, all SR-Series come with a new thermal imaging core that will allow the user to see even farther than before. This means that users can now detect targets at longer distances for the same price. Choice of image quality The SR-Series are using the most advanced thermal imaging technology available on the market today. They incorporate an uncooled Vanadium Oxide microbolometer detector producing crisp 320 x 240 pixels thermal images. Users that do not require this high image quality can choose for a 160 x 120 detector. More pixels allow the user to see more detail and to detect more and smaller objects. Advanced internal camera software delivers a crisp image without the need for user adjustments. It provides high quality thermal imaging in any night- or daytime environmental conditions.
Advanced image processing SR-Series include FLIR’s advanced image processing techniques which deliver excellent contrast regardless of scene dynamics. Unlike other night vision systems that require low amounts of light to generate an image, the SR-Series needs no light at all. The new SR-Series contain the best Vanadium Oxide microbolometer detector technology on the market today. This provides the camera with an excellent sensitivity so that the user is able to see the smallest of details in the image even at long ranges. The image quality is further enhanced through FLIR Systems patented DDE (Digital Detail Enhancement) image processing technology.
Easy-to-install The SR-Series can be easily connected to common power and video interfaces found in existing and new security systems. The SR-Series are extremely rugged systems. Their vital core is well protected, meeting IP66 requirements, against dust and water ingress.
