Lamp handling guide For Philips Cinema Xenon lamps Never touch the glass Always wear gloves Handle with care Philips Cinema Xenon Lamps are made of Quartz glass, therefore they need to be handled with care. Never touch the glass with your fingers, always wear gloves when holding or installing a lamp. Clean cinema lamp with lint-free cloth Is the Cinema Xenon lamp clean and undamaged? Always check the lamp for any damages before installing: • Make sure there are no finger prints on the glass, always wear gloves • Make sure there are no damages or scratches on the bulb How to clean a Cinema Xenon lamp? If there are fingerprints, stains or dust on the outside of the lamp, clean it with a lint free cloth. Protective gear Keep the cover on the lamp for as long as possible How to install a Cinema Xenon lamp? Always wear protective gear: • Safety Gloves • Face shield • Safety jacket • K  eep the cover on the lamp for as long as possible. Remove it only for installation. The lamp is under high pressure and could cause injury if it bursts. By keeping the protective cover on the lamp you will also minimize the potential risk of scratches. • Make sure all electrical connections are clean and tight and there is no corrosion. • Install the lamp with care inside the lamp house. Avoid contact between the lamp and the reflector. • Check the projector manufacturers manual for specific information about how to install the lamp. www.philips.com/cinemalamps Wear protective gear when installing a Cinema Xenon lamp Clean the filters when changing a lamp Which general points of attention need to be taken into account? • A  lways clean the projector filters when changing a lamp or replace the filters according to the manufacturer’s specification. • Always select the correct wattage settings in the software of the projector. • If the Philips lamp is not in the software of the projector, make sure to pick an Osram or Ushio equivalent for the same wattage, or design a lamp file for the Philips lamp. Barco projectors Make sure the Barco lamp house is correctly installed. If the message “no lamp is installed” appears, it means the lamp house is not placed correctly and that there is no connection made between the projector software and lamp house. Sony projectors When installing the lamp, always check if the fine mesh filters are clean. To prevent overheating of the lamp, the fine mesh filters should be cleaned before every lamp change. Also, make sure the anode cable is connected in the correct way to prevent any ignition issues.
