GB 895 Biggest and strongest 895 FORWARDERS Productive and reliable 895 The Komatsu 895 is not just our biggest-ever forwarder. It also represents an entirely new class when it comes to maximising everything from productivity and operational economy to ergonomic benefits. Here are the 895's most significant strengths: Drive line Operator environment Powerful new drive line with the new HST transmission produces high underlying traction force and extra muscle on hills and over obstacles. New, robust and maintenance-free drive shaft system. Powerful axle system and new bogie in robust construction of the portal type with the Comfort Bogie function produces the best combination of traction force and operator comfort. The crowning touch is the 780/28.5-inch wheel size – unique for the Komatsu 895. With the larger diameter, full traction force is in contact with the ground. Noticeably larger cab – higher and wider with more legroom, more storage space and a quiet working environment. Large glass surfaces mean better visibility upwards and to the sides, and make crane operation easier and more relaxed. The new operator's seat provides excellent comfort and work space, and offers many personal adjustments and settings. The new hand controls are ergonomically designed and well equipped. Additional benefits include cruise control, adjustment of hydrostatic gearing for power or speed (inch) and fuel-saving driving pedal settings. Komatsu Comfort Ride Komatsu’s new cab suspension solution Comfort Ride is available as an option for your forwarder. With its superior suspension properties, it improves operator comfort, reduces fatigue and generally makes working more enjoyable, which can increase productivity. The four-point suspension with well-protected cylinders with extra long stoke makes Comfort Ride a winner in all categories. The Ride Height Control function means that the suspension can compensate for centre of gravity shifts on various gradients. Chassis Control system The new and powerful chassis, designed for a 20-ton forwarder, has a rear frame with a V-shaped bottom for easily managing obstacles. The new load space with the patented new FlexGate, which flexes if accidental contact is made with the crane, provides excellent visibility through the gate. The robust front blade can be lifted high for improved obstacle clearance. Serviceability is excellent, with easily accessible service points in the engine compartment and under the easily tilted cab. There are also service hatches under the front frame and the control cylinders are mounted on the outside for ease of access. MaxiXplorer – with its simplicity, power and functionality – is one of the market's most outstanding control systems. The system gives you superior machine control. • Engine, transmission, crane, lighting, windshield wipers, etc. can be easily adjusted, fine-tuned and adapted to the operator's needs and preferences. • Integrated operational and production follow-up provides complete monitoring of machine performance. With Komatsu's new, cloud-based tool MaxiFleet, a machine owner can monitor machine operation via the Internet in near real-time. Besides seeing the machine's exact position on a map, production and operational key figures can also be viewed and exported into complete reports. And not just for a single machine, but for an entire fleet of machines. Environmental and fuel benefits The new powerful SCR engine both minimises emissions and optimises fuel economy. A GIANT ANY WAY YOU LOOK AT IT Outstanding operator environment The new cab and the new Komatsu Comfort Ride cab suspension solution provides a spacious, high-performance, ergonomically correct and quiet operator environment. Minimum downtime The advantages of the new service-friendly frame system, ORFS couplings and lubricationfree universal joints provide high operational reliability and easy service. The new 20-ton wheels and 28.5inch rims mean more traction force, higher ground clearance and low ground pressure. A giant both when it comes to size and productivity. That also provides the biggest environmental, ergonomic and service benefits. This seemingly impossible combination is finally possible thanks to the new Komatsu 895. The result is an entirely new forwarder class for when you want get as much done as possible with the lowest possible effort and environmental impact. Take the 895's powerful E3 Power engine technology for example, that minimises NOx emissions and optimises performance and fuel efficiency. The same new approach Full utilisation of MaxiXplorer provides you with everything from more exact and efficient machine control to marketleading operational and production follow-up. 895 The crane is one of the forwarder's most essential components and is very important for productivity. We have kept this in mind with the new 165F, one of the market's most powerful cranes, with a high gross lifting and turning torque, and a weight-optimised linkage system that delivers high gross lifting force. It also has Protec, with shielded hose routing as standard, and new, split hose routing to the valve that improves ease of service. The new slewing assembly has a sturdy slewing housing and a reliable column solution. applies to the high traction force and accessibility thanks to unique interaction between the engine, control system and transmission. Power is further improved by the 895's new HD bogie with hub reduction and its unique large wheels and rims, providing low ground pressure and higher clearance. The interactive approach is obvious in the high-performance operator environment and machine response. Our new, quiet and spacious cab, with its excellent visibility and the new 3000 seat with stepless column locking, further improves working conditions. As an option for your new forwarder, you can choose the entirely new Comfort Ride cab suspension solution, which with its optimised geometry, four-point suspension and extremely long stroke, provides a completely new, exceptional, high-performance and ergonomic operator environment. The new 165F crane with its high lifting and turning torque is also important to productivity. Also entirely new is the 895's frame system, providing everything from improved accessibility and higher load capacity to easier service. The new, robust HD 20-ton bogie gives you superb manoeuvrability and higher load capacity, as well as first-rate ease of service. Another important detail is the completely new Flexgate, a gate that improves both safety and visibility. Manoeuvrability is not sacrificed thanks to the forwarder's sleek design. High productivity, low operating costs, innovative technology, excellent operator environment – these are just a few examples of the advantages that earn Komatsu forestry machines a place among the best in the world. Behind all this is a highly-focused strategy to continually build upon the advantages of owning a Komatsu forwarder. A strategy based on the following principal ideas. Ergonomics Your forwarder is a mobile work environment where the operator’s opportunities to perform optimally without tiring are a decisive factor for success. This is an important reference point that has helped us develop the important ergonomic advantages of Komatsu forwarders. Good examples are the stability and the operator environment with its perfect view whether driving or operating the loader. Economy The ambition to maximize profitability is one of the most important driving forces in the further development of Komatsu’s forwarders. Each small improvement that increases productivity and reliability, reduces costs, or saves time is of interest. Tangible and quantifiable examples from today’s Komatsu forwarders include fuel-efficient engines, high reliability, and unmatched high productivity per unit of time. Productivity More work in less time. This is something we often hear from contractors who switch from competing brands to Komatsu forwarders. And there are many reasons behind this, both large and small. The most important include the high-performance operator environment, superior loader geometry, and great maneuverability and speed. FPSB1018-00 Customer Support Fast and competent service has a direct bearing on the performance and economy of any forestry machine. Our extensive service network provides you as a Komatsu owner with a sense of security. Well-trained technicians – Komatsu experts – provide additional assurance. Another benefit is ProSelect, our special line of accessories and consumables. The range is based on a selection of items that are all of the highest quality and designed for both Komatsu and other brands of professional forestry machinery. Environment Forests are an essential and fragile element of the global ecology. This is why every new Komatsu product, and all its component parts, is examined with an eye to both the short-term and long-term environmental effects. This has resulted in real environmental improvements such as highly-effective exhaust emission control and low, evenlydistributed ground pressure in Komatsu forwarders. Environmental considerations also permeate our broad range of accessories and consumables, such as our special, rapidly biodegradable oils. Global Experience Komatsu forwarders can be found the world over. Consequently, they have been adapted to deliver optimum profitability regardless of working conditions. The same fundamental idea lies behind the global service and dealer network that provides support to thousands of Komatsu owners on a daily basis.
