One, Two & Three I am proud to present the new Vibex model One,Two and Three range of power blocks and power filters. This new range is a major advance over the previous models and takes the levels of excellence already obtained to a new high. The first thing that will attract attention to these new models is undoubtedly their aesthetics. The model One and Two are machined from solid pieces of a new synthetic solid surface called Krion. Krion is designed and manufactured in Spain and employs a patented combination of very fine bauxite powder (aluminium ore) and acrylic resins. The result is a very resistant material capable of being machined to close tolerances with exquisite finish. Being a solid surface this material has many benefits and these include the fact that any surface scratches can be easily polished out and therefore the appearance and your investment are maintained long term. Perhaps the most remarkable thing about Krion is its ability to control a dissipate energy In a way that, in my experience, no other material is capable of doing. After many years testing and comparing materials to get the best balance of qualities, Krion has shown me how limited nearly all other materials are in controlling and screening
from outside interference, be it mechanical or airborne. As with all materials Krion works more efficiently if combined with elastomers and internal labyrinths that avoid accumulation of energy at any particular point in the chassis. This combination of machining and elastomers is critical and of course it is possible to over or under-damp, with the result being a sound which is either lifeless or too lively. Also consideration must be taken into the fact that timbre must be respected and the use of different materials together must not modify this very important factor. For me, silence is the reference point from where to begin a design. The quieter a design, the more information we can retrieve from the noise floor. As I said previously there must not be over-damping. A very low noise floor might be obtained, but dynamic contrasts will be destroyed. The combination of materials used must be able to react extremely quickly to changes in the signal and it is fundamental that the energy dissipated is controlled in a manner that avoids part of this energy returning and mixing with the mains power you are trying to purify. The effects of uncontrolled energy are clearly audible as “smearing” and a lack of phase stability. Also micro-detail is lost and however good the system is, this will never be retrieved.

Vibex is renowned for the quality of it’s mains filtering and the new Two and Three range takes the previous designs a lot further forward.
All the Vibex Two and Three models include, what I consider to be one of our greatest advances in power filtering, our D.C. filter. This filter has meant a giant leap forward in the quality of sound and video reproduction.
One of the most important factors in any power filter design is the avoidance of dynamic compression. As you are probably aware nearly all power filters, not only remove unwanted artifacts from the mains, but also reduce dynamics and information In general. This is totally unacceptable and the new Vibex Two and Three ranges prove that not only is it possible to filter the mains power efficiently and lower the noise floor, but also increase dynamic range and both micro and macro information. The new Vibex power filters do not filter to earth, as is so common in most filters. We believe that the earth should be kept as clean as possible and not be used to try and clean the mains power. Testing quickly show how important it is not to filter to earth. This being clearly audible in listening tests. The earth connection is far more efficient if you are not dumping the removed rubbish into it. The silence of the system connected is also greatly improved if the earth is kept as clean as possible. Both the Vibex Three 11R and Three 1R employ the latest version of our symmetrical power filter coil. This coil is designed and manufactured by Vibex in-house. As with every component employed in our designs this coil has been fine-tuned by ear for optimum results. In designing it we listened to many different ways of winding and when it was clear which was the most effective, this was then adjusted by removing or adding half turns until the best results were obtained.
D.C. on the mains has become a serious problem in recent years and this tendency will only increase in the future, making it a necessity to filter it out if you want to maintain and improve the quality of your system. D.C. filtering is not a very widely understood technology and requires extremely high current capability and a lot of different component selection to get the right balance of attributes. This process took well over a year to perfect, but I’m sure you will find it has been well worth it. All equipment, even those with small power transformers, clearly benefits from D.C. filtering. Most “experts” believe that small transformers are not affected by D.C., but a quick listen to just one component in a system connected to the D.C. filter will demonstrate that this is not the case. To date, we have found that everything, including turntable motors benefit from this technology.

All models employ constrained layer damping. Critical damping with carbon impregnated high tech elastomers. Non-parallel internal structure to avoid energy accumulation and resonance. The Vibex One series use silver plated OFC copper wiring with extruded PTFE insulation.
The Vibex Two and Three series use 7N Acrolink ultra high purity copper wiring. Totally non-metallic, non-conductive and non-magnetic chassis precision CNC machined in-house from solid Krion. All screws and nuts are made from non-magnetic stainless steel.
All models are available with either Schuko, U.K. 13A or U.S. sockets. Oyaide rhodium plated IEC input. Option of Furutech FI-33R 15/20A IEC. All R models use Vibex beryllium copper rhodium plated sockets with 2 microns of the highest purity rhodium. Vibex designs are ROHS and CE compliant.
