And this year our Rancher line gives you even more choices. Our four Rancher four-wheel-drive models are the foundation of the lineup—tough ATVs that get the job done. Two of them offer Electric Shift Program™ and new for 2009, Honda’s revolutionary Electric Power Steering (EPS). And we also offer a two-wheel drive model as well. But no matter which Rancher you choose, you can rest assured you’re getting the quality, dependability, and proven features that set a Honda apart. While our line of Ranchers share many of the same features, each one has its own unique combination. Here’s a breakdown: Rancher 4x4 ES with EPS Our electric-shift 4x4 model with the addition of Electric Power Steering Rancher 4x4 EPS Our conventional-shift model, but also featuring Electric Power Steering Rancher 4x4 ES Four-wheel drive and our Electric Shift Program™ (ESP) transmission Rancher 4x4 Four-wheel drive combined with our conventional foot-shift ATV manual transmission. Rancher This is our rugged two-wheel drive model.
UNIQUE FEATURES • Rugged OHV liquid-cooled, 420cc longitudinally mounted engine on all Rancher models allows direct driveshaft alignment to both front and rear wheels for maximum drivetrain efficiency.
• Dual front hydraulic disc brakes and sealed mechanical rear drum brakes for strong stops.
• Keihin fuel-injection system on all Rancher models provides crisp performance and ensures trouble-free operation in cold conditions and changing altitudes.
• Heavy-duty trailer hitch with 850-pound towing capacity.
• Heavy-duty automatic clutch with a low-rpm engagement point on all Rancher models for excellent driveability and towing capability.
• Large cargo racks front and rear carry payloads of 66 and 133 pounds, respectively.
• Large, lightweight plastic fuel tank with 3.6-gallon capacity. • Snorkel-type air-intake system is specially designed to resist water.
• Independent double-wishbone front suspension on all models uses premium shock absorbers to provide 6.3 inches of suspension travel for a comfortable ride.
• Full-length lower skidplate with integrated front brush guard.
• Specially designed floorboards on all Ranchers allow the rider’s feet to grip the footrests while helping keep mud and debris away.
• Electric Power Steering on our Rancher 4x4 ES with EPS and Rancher 4x4 with EPS makes riding less fatiguing especially in tough conditions like dried ruts and boulder trails.
• Rubber-cushion engine mounting and geardriven counterbalancer reduce vibration. • Convenient electric starting, with optional recoil starter and an automatic internaldecompression system. • Rugged frame and suspension provide an exceptional 6.5 inches of ground clearance. • Tough, large-diameter 24x8-12 front, and wide 24x10-11 rear tires provide excellent ground clearance while maintaining precise handling.
• Transferable one-year limited warranty; extended coverage available with a Honda Protection Plan.
• ES models feature Electric Shift Program (ESP) for pushbutton upshifting and downshifting. • TraxLok allows you to shift between 2WD and 4WD on the fly with just a push of your thumb.
