Lighting plays a vital role in the successful keeping of a planted aquarium. Plants use photosynthesis to grow and thrive. For photosynthesis to occur, quality full-spectrum lighting is required. LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting is quickly becoming the lighting of choice for most aquarium hobbyists. Other forms of aquarium lighting, such compared to LEDs. Lumens: A unit of measurement that delivers the amount of brightness originating from a light source.
