About The DS410 Time-of-Flight (ToF) functionality provides real-time distance data of a scene at up to 30 frames per second, together with RGB image and microphone arrays, ideal to engage people with natural interaction in public or professional spaces.
How it Works In order to create real-time 3D scene-data, the DS410 emits modulated non-visible infrared (IR) light into a scene and measures the round-trip time it takes for the reflected IR light to return. Unlike other depth-sensing technologies, DepthSense™ ToF is able to calculate depth-sensitivity within millimeters, not just centimeters or inches.

What is DepthSense? DepthSense™ is SoftKinetic’s patented Time-of-Flight (ToF) depth sensor specially tuned to see infrared light emitted by the camera. The sensor transforms the ToF positional data into a rich 3D image in real-time, including a grey-scale Confidence Map, which is easily accessible for software analysis. DepthSense is based upon standardized CMO technology. Our cameras are available in scalable quantities for research, prototyping and commercial deployments, whilst customizable for large quantity orders.
