Fully Isolated RS-232 to RS-422/RS-485 Converter (TOD001) The MODEL485P is a high performance RS-232 to RS-485/422 interface converter. The product features optical-electrical isolation rated to more than 2.5KV and internal power isolation. It has surge protection on its data lines. The powerful line drivers allow for long distances of RS-422/485 serial transmission. The converter offers high data transfer rates and reliable performance. It automatically adjusts to the data rate and features automatic flow control for RS-485. The converter has broad application in industry control systems. Power can provided from the RS-232 handshake lines or the included 9 VDC plug pack. The converter has a male DB-9 port on the RS-232 side. The RS-485/RS-422 side has a female DB-9 connector and an RJ45 jack. The RS-485 and RS-422 signals are brought out to pins on both connectors. The box includes a DB-9 to screw terminal adapter which breaks out the RS-485 and RS422 signals.
