INSTALLATION HEADER INSTRUCTIONS
Keep spinner assembly supported until mounting is complete. Never exceed workload limits or use slings to lift items over people.
Use the following instructions when installing a G4 Spinner Assembly on a New Leader spreader:

2. Make sure the spinner assembly is square. Measure from the spinner mounting bracket that sits on the sill to the end of the sill on both sides. The distance should be approximately 9-7/8” (25.08cm) on each side as shown in Figure A. Center the spinner assembly from side-to-side by measuring diagonally from the center of the spinner hub to the sill on each side—these two measurements should be equal. Tighten the rear bolts securely.

3. Figure B - Install the right-hand (Item 4) and lefthand (Item 5) spinner shields on the spinner assembly and attach the shield supports (Item 3) to the shields using hardware provided. Tighten all shield support hardware securely, including the front bolts of the spinner assembly.
Figure B – Shield Installation 4. Install the pressure, return and case drain hoses. Crank the spinner assembly all the way forward and back to make sure the hoses and fittings do not interfere with the spinner assembly as it moves. Tie all loose areas of hose together with wire ties to prevent contact with moving parts during operation.

1. Use a suitable lifting device to hoist the spinner assembly (Item 1 - Figure A) onto the rear of the sills. Note: The spinner assembly weighs approximately 340 lbs (154 kg). Align the spinner assembly holes with the sill holes. If assembling G4 spinner to GT unit, align spinner holes with front set of sill holes (closest to the cab). Insert four carriage bolts (Item 2) through holes, place spinner deflector supports (Item 3) on front bolts and attach with washers, lock washers and nuts. Hand-tighten only. Remove the two wooden 2 x 4’s (5.08cm x 10.16cm) and hardware used during shipping.

5. Make sure fins are installed on the spinner discs correctly: a. Position fin on disc with gusset near outer edge of spinner disc. b. If left hand disc, gusset points counterclockwise. c. If right hand disc, gusset point clockwise. 4. When spreading with a unit with a 30” wide conveyor, position two opposing fins in the forward position (1) and two fins in the center position (2) as shown in Figure C. With a 24” wide conveyor, position all fins in the center position (2). Insert hardware, as shown in Figure D: a. Insert screw in fin hole closest to hub from underneath, through disc then the fin. b. Insert screw into middle and outside fin holes from the top, through fin then the disc.

3. Set initial spinner speed at 600 RPM for ag lime, or 700 RPM for fertilizer. These settings can be found using the controller in the cab. The spinner sensor will measure the spinner’s speed.

4. Position the material divider (Item 6) on the sills as shown in Figure E1. Center the divider as shown in Figure E2, by measuring diagonally from points A to B and from points B to C. Move as necessary to obtain equal measurements and attach with hardware provided.

NOTE: If unit is not a G4 and does not have slots for the divider, holes must be drilled. Measure from the spinner assembly front plate to the dropoff point on the material divider front plate—the distance should be 12-1/4” (31.12cm) on each side of the divider as shown in Figure E3. The hold-down brackets on the material divider should be almost flush with the end of the sill. Drill 3/8” (.95cm) holes through the sills at the material divider’s two hole locations. Make sure it is 121/4” (31.12cm) from the spinner assembly’s front plate to the material divider’s drop-off point. Adjust as needed and secure with hardware.

5. Mount the right-hand (Item 7) and left-hand (Item 8) spinner guards on the sills as shown in Figure F, using hardware provided—hand tighten only. Install the center spinner guard (Item 9) between the two sides and attach using hardware provided. Level guard and tighten hardware securely. 6. Remove the two rear chain shield cap screws from each side. Install the hillside divider (Item 10) as shown in Figure G, using the chain shield hardware. Make sure the hillside divider panel (Item 11) is straight and level so it will distribute materials evenly to the material divider (Item 6). Do not set the panel directly on the conveyor. Tighten hillside divider hardware securely.
