Our powertrain is a monster. It accelerates from 0-30 mph (0-48 km/h) in three seconds and reaches speeds of up to 53 mph (85 km/h). The kind of speed and acceleration that separates the wolves from the sheep. But this creature is more than just fast. It can climb steep terrain like a mountain goat, stop with the reflexes of a puma and come down a mountain path in complete control — an avalanche of power at your command.

Start your engine at high altitudes and at -20°F (-29°C). The auto start electronic ignition system, dual oxygen sensors and the closed loop EFI design make it so.

• Forget to release the parking brake? When left on, the park brake system limits spark and fuel to 1750 rpm to alert driver and minimise any chance of damage.
• Up to 53 mph (85 km/h). Go 0 to 53 mph (0 to 85 km/h) in your high-speed forward gear. • Stopping power comes from large, cross-drilled, stainless steel, heat-dissipating rotors and sintered brake pads.

Deep at work in our underground labs, in collaboration with engineering firms that consult for Formula One, NASCAR and Indy Race Car teams, a sport-tuned, multi-link independent suspension was developed to give the RSX850i an animal-like grace.

It’s been observed that the advanced design of the RSX850i came from the insight and innovation of engineering consultants for professional race car teams. Also of note is that ADAMS/Car™ Dynamics Simulation was used to prove that this whole new species design would perform at the highest levels in real world environments. As a natural result, this beast has a strong, stylish chassis and an inspired suspension package that delivers handling without peer. • Optimised steering geometry using ADAMS/Car™ Dynamics Simulation has helped deliver low effort input and maximum terrain feedback. • Ackermann steering design provides precision wheel angles for ultra responsive steering whilst eliminating tyre scrub and decreasing tyre wear. • Race car inspired sealed rack and pinion steering features steel ball-bearings providing low effort inputs for precision steering and long life. • Tight 12.3 ft (3.7 m) turn radius offers excellent manoeuvrability.
Ackermann Steering Principals at play. The inside wheels follow a smaller diameter circle than the outside wheels to reduce tyre wear and increase steering responsiveness.

The steering ratio is tight and responsive, requiring little effort. • Anti-dive front suspension geometry provides a solid platform for confident handling and braking. • Minimal bump steer, front and rear sway bars, low centre of gravity and the vehicle’s wide stance deliver flat sports car-like handling.

Crossing water. A fully sealed CVT drive case, high engine, and CVT intakes allows for water crossing on the trails.
Full-locking, true 4WD system offers you the control from selectable limited slip to fully locked 4WD with simple dashboard controls.
All terrain. A full time locked rear axle, with available 26 in. (66 cm). Maxxis BigHorn 2.0® radials and fully independent suspension keeps all four wheels firmly on the ground for ultimate terrain ability.

RSX850i TRAIL The Trail model was developed for hunting, fishing and back country trails. It features sports seats, alloy wheels with MAXXIS® tyres, WARN® 3,000 lbs. (1,360 kg) winch, front v-brushguard, 2 in. front receiver hitch with recovery loops, rear bumper and cargo box rails.
