Dear customers, We would like to congratulate you on buying our product – GSM Gate GB 102. This way you obtained high-class and technically highly modern product. GSM Gate by LEVEL provides possibility of significant phone costs savings as well as installation of phone line even in place where it otherwise would not be possible Before connection of GB 102 and its setting into operation, please, read carefully these instructions manual. It will not only introduce you correct installation and handling of this product but at the same time will help you fully utilize all its technical potentialities. Allowed use GSM Gate GB 102 allows connection of extension exchange input (free position for direct line) or phone device to phone line connector. ATTENTION: GB 102 is source of phone line therefore never connect either direct or extension phone lines to connector. ATTENTION: GSM Gates are not subject of homologation by ČTÚ (Czech Telecommunication Office). Entrepreneur is therefore obliged to ensure that calls from public fixed line network are not connected through them (only internal – extension – calls are allowed). Power supply of the product can be carried out by network adapter delivered with product or by backup source 12 V DC. Product is meant only for indoor use, not outdoor. It is necessary to avoid all contacts of device with moisture. Another than above stated use can cause incorrect function or damage of product. This is combined with danger – e.g. short circuit, fire or injury by electric current. It is not possible to make calls during current outage. Therefore we recommend connecting of network supply from backed up power supply UPS or connecting of backup power supply from battery 12 V. Programmed configuration will be saved in memory – type EEPROM – for arbitrarily long time during current outage.

Device must be disconnected from all power sources before maintenance or exchange of parts or filled boards. No fluids must enter the device. Danger of fire or injury by electric current impend. Do not place device into rooms with high temperatures, strong vibrations or high humidity. In case you moved device from cool to warm room do not set it into operation immediately. Let device warm up to temperature of room. Wait until condensed water evaporates. 4
3. Installation 3.1. GSM Gate Assembly GSM Gates by LEVEL are designed for operation in dry places. During assembly avoid hot places and places where device would be exposed to direct solar radiation or places close to heating elements. Do not place GSM Gate or antenna mast close to phone exchange or other electronic device or line. Due to high-frequency electromagnetic field these devices could be interfered. Choose such a place where interference is minimal. Due to interference it is also not advisable to operate the device close to other power or high-frequency devices. Before starting assembling verify there is sufficient level of signal required by GSM network in selected place. Please place the rod antenna ED 001 001 as for as possible from the GB 102 GSM Gateway and place the antenna cable away from the telephone line cable to avoid interferences. 3.2. Connection of Cables and Antenna Phone cable with end US RJ shall be used for connection of phone line. Length of connecting cable for installation should not be shorter than 5 meters so that it is possible to place GSM Gate and antenna in sufficient distance from exchange. However, phone cable should not be longer than 200 m. Connection cables for signals, which operate SMS messages, shall be connected to connector micro Fit according to recommended connections – see ch. 5.14. For connection with PC use a serial cable and converter with cable equipped with micro Fit connector. There is 12V DC power connected on pins + and ┴ of micro Fit connector designed for power input of the converter – maximum load capability is 200 mA. External antenna, which is a part of equipment, shall be screwed into connector for antenna. In case signal is weak use more sensitive antenna. Network adapter shall be connected at first with GSM Gate - into connector marked 12 VDC - and then plugged into socket. 3.3. Inserting of SIM Cards SIM card is inserted into slot next to the GSM antenna. There is a yellow release button next to the slot. Use suitable tool for releasing the slot. Do not try to release the slot by force. Insert the SIM card into the plate and push the slot back in with the SIM card connector facing up. 5
To ensure the GSM gate cooperates with SIM card correctly it is necessary to set the same PIN number in GB 102 configuration as on the SIM card or set no PIN code blocking on the SIM. 3.4. Indication by LED Indication LEDs on GB 102 indicate basic operational states: PWR– power supply status Permanently on - Indicates connected power input GSM –GSM module status Blinking 0,5 s / 0,5 s - Connecting to the GSM network Blinking 0,2 s / 2 s - Indicates GSM network connected Permanently on - Communication in progress STATUS – phone line status Permanently on - Line is picked up Blinking quickly - Dialing Blinking slowly - Ringing 4.
Configuring Number of functions and parameters, which allow maximum adjustment of gate GB 102 to environment and user’s requirements, can be set by programming. Parameter configuration change can be performed using: Control Panel software connected via serial line from PC Control Panel software connected via GSM remote access A regular phone using tone dialing SMS messages sent from mobile phone 4.1. Connect the phone to the GB 102 – pick up the receiver, in case of need when using a PBX dial the access code of the extension line connected to the GB 102. You should hear the dial tone. Dial #pppp#, where pppp are four digits of gate PIN. PIN is set 1234 from production. After entering correct PIN you will hear tone configuring tone (·· ·· ·· ). Enter particular setting parameters. Dial 4 digits of instruction followed by value of parameter for particular instruction. End entering of instruction by dialing #. Time control is 1 minute after last dial. After entering correct instruction you will hear tone “Configuring” again and another instruction can be entered. Configuring mode will be exited by hang-up of receiver.
If you enter invalid configuration command you will hear the busy tone. In this case continue the settings by entering the command again or end the settings mode by hanging up. If valid commands were entered before, the new settings will be saved. If there is the programming symbol “*” set instead of “#” then use “*” in all commands. 4.4. Configuring and Operating by SMS Messages Incoming SMS messages are processed - command messages are executed and all others can be ether deleted or forwarded to a phone number preset in configuration. 7
SMS messages coming to phone number of SIM card are decoded. Control messages are immediately realized. General format of control SMS message is following:
XXppppINSTRUCTION1parameter1INSTRUCTION2parameter2… XX pppp INSTRUCTION
Opening digits – two capital letters X. Actual PIN of gate. Key word of instruction in SMS message – capital or small letters do not matter.
Space. Set-up value of instruction No.1. End of instruction sequence shall be carried out either by ending of SMS message or space.
Parameter1
Space or enter in SMS message can be followed by other key words of instructions and their parameters up to maximum length of SMS message, tm. up to 160 characters. Message about performing of an instruction is always sent back to sender’s cell phone. Parameter NOTIFYSMS means that the preset number will receive all reset messages and low prepaid credit reports. If parameter INFOSMS is set messages about changes in set-up, messages about reset and information about time of operation are sent to this number. Deleting of numeral or text data is carried out by substitution of parameter value by point . or quotes “”. 5.
Control Instructions 5.1. PIN in GSM Gate GB 102 In case the inserted SIM cards are protected by PIN number it is necessary to verify that the PIN SIM entered in the configuration software are the same as the PINs set on the SIM cards. It is also possible to use SIM cards with no PIN protection - in such case it is not important what PIN(s) are configured in the GSM gate. PIN of GSM Gate is used as access code for programming by SMS messages or by phone. PIN = pppp.

PIN of SIM card, which will be used in GSM gate is 4321. ● Pick up handset and wait for dialing tone. ● Enter programming mode by dialing #1234#. ● After hearing the programming tone dial 00004321#. ● Hang up. It is not possible to program gate by SMS messages if PIN SIM in gate is not conformable to PIN of SIM card. Login of gate in GSM network is then not carried out. This is e.g. state after initialization. For conformity of PINs choose another way of programming. 5.2. Set-up of Direction Adding Some exchanges do not repeat pre-selection of number dialed before interconnection when connecting call to transmitter with GSM gate. This function allows reconstruction of originally dialed number by adding of removed preselection. Dial Command 0100x#
SMS Command PDIR x
Default Not activated from production.
Where x is 0 to 7 digits, which shall be added. Removal of values by phone is carried out by instruction 0100# or by SMS message PDIR . (Point represents data) or PDIR ““. 5.3. Set-up of Allowed Directions If you want to avoid connection of useless calls (which would have higher tariffs than when connected through fixed line) through GSM gate set required values of pre-selections as allowed directions. Other calls, e.g. calls into fixed local or toll phone network, will not be connected through GSM gate. Dial Command 0201x# 0202x# 0203x# 0204x# 0205x# 0206x#

Where x is 1 to 7-digit-number of pre-selection. Removal of values is carried out by instruction 0201#, 0202#, etc. or by SMS message ADIR1 . (point represents data) or ADIR ““. ATTENTION! ● If you remove all values GSM gate will not connect any calls except numbers, which begin with code for unblocking, if it is set. After end of dialing of number you will hear busy tone. ● With standard manufacturer settings the GSM gateway is enabled to call all numbers without limitations ● If you use function of automatic switch-over to second SIM card according to dialed number (parameter SIMDIR), set numbers of pre-selections from longest to shortest. Priority of evaluation goes from above. 5.4. Code for Disallowed Directions Code for disallowed directions, dialed in front of phone number, allows dialing of numbers, which are not in list of allowed directions. When dialing number into gate, calling is allowed by dialing of correct code in front of phone number. Gate then removes code and sends only phone number in GSM. We recommend to use in applications where gate is accessible from public network after preselection. Dial Command 0300x#
