FDD700
Single pipe universal duct detector
The FDD700 single pipe duct detector has been developed to detect smoke in ventilation ducts and combines a smoke detector and an adaptor system where both tube and housing are specially designed for optimum airflow through the smoke detector. The system fulfils all the requirements for safe fire detection with airflow speeds from 0,2 m/s to 20 m/s. The FDD700 has the correct adaptor profiles to accomodate any of the 700, 2000, 300, or 1500 series smoke detectors. Provision is made to fit the required detector base (not provided) into the duct detector. Specifications

CEILING or WALL ‘T’ CLIPS For space protection applications the ideal location for the heat sensing cable is on the ceiling or the top of the side wall. This ensures that the cable is rapidly exposed to the plume of hot gases from any event that rise and spread across the ceiling. The 20mm stand off provided by the clip is necessary as a layer of colder air is often trapped against the ceiling in a fire condition. The clip is a plastic moulding with a slot into which the heat sensing cable is located, for extra security a tie wrap may be used in a figure “8” arrangement to prevent the cable from being pulled from the clip. In general one clip should be used every metre however two clips should be mounted close together at 90 degrees where the cable route changes direction. The clip may be secured with a screw and wall plug or may be screwed on to an M6 thread on a percussion pin.

To fit structures from 2 to 3 mm The knock on edge clip is available to mount on steelwork of differing thickness and provides a stand-off for the linear heat sensing cable to ensure rapid response. These fixings are made of mild steel with a zinc rich plated finish. This has excellent resistance to corrosion and heat. The linear heat sensing cable should always be secured to the edge clip with the recommended neoprene sleeve and tie wrap.
