Introduction Foreword Welcome to the manual of the Crash Recovery System, the mobile vehicle information database for rescue workers all around the world. The Crash Recovery System enables rescue workers to extricate patients quickly and safely from a crashed vehicle. Within a few seconds, the system generates a complete overview of all components of the Supplemental Restraint Systems in the vehicle. The software also provides important information about the location and deactivation of each safety component. Copyright © 2014 Moditech Rescue Solutions B.V. All rights reserved. Database regional options In the ‘Crash Recovery System Preferences’ it’s possible to select the database of your choice by clicking the ‘Database regional options’ button. Locale options Select the language that will be used in all windows of the CRS. Countries with license plate selection The option ‘Countries with license plate selection’ shows an overview of countries where licenseplate request is currently available. Fixed landscape view When this option is checked, the screen is in a fixed landscape view. Worst case model only The ‘Worst case models only’ button is available to select the type of a vehicle with all available SRS options. Select this option if the vehicle has no visible type of engine capacity. Quick selection mode If the option ‘Quick selection mode’ is checked, the system automatically selects models with one result, which makes it automatically moves to the next selection. Country specific options At this point it is possible to enable (or disable) different vehicle selection procedures in the Crash Recovery System for a specific country, like ‘Licenseplate selection’, ‘Datasheet-ID selection’ and ‘OEM-Datasheet-ID selection’. Knowledgebase Server Due to the ‘Knowledgebase Server’ it is possible to download and add extra information. Enter at this option the right account details.
7
Settings/ Check for updates If this option is checked, the system searches online for the latest update. A mobile connection is a requirement. Settings/ License management

If the selected model is an alternative fueled vehicle, there will appear immediately a warning screen. This warning screen gives important information about the vehicle.
After clicking the ‘Cross’ button in the lower right corner, or the ‘Hide info’-button, the warning screen disappears and the selected vehicle is visible. If the vehicle isn’t an alternative fueled model, the datasheet will appear directly.
11
2.5 Datasheet Datasheet/ Buttons In the datasheet all the visible components are clickable for more information. In many cases there are extra digital pictures of these components. This capital shows the explaination about the datasheet’s buttons.
Datasheet/ Show Legend Click the button ‘Show legend’ to understand what each color means. The legend explains the component groups used in the CRS information sheet.
Click the ‘Cross’ button, or the ‘Hide legend’ button to remove the Legend.
12
Datasheet/ Show info As mentioned, if the selected model is an alternative fueled vehicle, there will appear immediately a warning screen. Clicking the ‘Show info’-button will also show this warning screen.
Datasheet/ Show deactivation This option will give the rescue worker a step-by-step explanation about how to disable a vehicle. At every step, pictures will bring more clarity to the procedure, so the rescue worker will recognize the step quickly.
