Service offerings listed herein are classified as obsolete according to the following types, and each obsolete offering is designated by one of these types: Type A Not offered for new installations on and after the specified obsolete date; any available units used only for additions to or replacements of existing service at the same location. Type B Not offered for new installations on or after the specified obsolete date at the rates and charges shown in the obsolete offering; the obsolete rates and charges apply only to those units in service on the specified date and continue to apply thereon until changed. Type C Unit no longer being manufactured; offered for new installations only as obtainable from existing stock. Type D Any other arrangement; the specific provisions in each case being stated at the beginning of the text for the obsolete service offering affected.

Special Feature Telephone (Type B, July 22, 1982) Z.3.4.1 Trendline Telephones The Trendline telephone is a compact telephone with a rotary dial-in-hand set. This type of telephone may be furnished subject to a nonrecurring charge of $15.00, plus an additional monthly rate of $1.25. This nonrecurring charge is over and above other rates and charges applicable under this Tariff. Trendline telephones have provision for a lighted dial. A transformer connected to ordinary household electrical service, provided by the customer, is necessary to light the dial in a Trendline telephone. At the subscriber’s option, this may be furnished at an additional monthly rate of $.50. If the installation of this transformer necessitates a second premises visit, the charges applicable to the installation of an extension station as specified in Section D of this Tariff will apply. Z.3.4.2 Speakerphone A.
A speakerphone set allows the user to carry on a regular telephone conversation without the necessity of holding a handset. In addition to a handset type telephone, this arrangement includes a microphone, volume controls, signal lamp (either built in or on a separate adapter unit) and a loudspeaker. The handset portion of this unit may be used in the usual manner if desired.
