Accessory Application MII 14360 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS JUNCTION LEAD HEADSET Issue Date December 2012 INSTALLATION NOTE: • Heat the bonding surfaces with a hair dryer if the ambient air temperature is below 70°F (21°C). • The adhesive reaches full strength in 72 hours. Wait at least 24 hours before riding your motorcycle. • Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery before installing this accessory. • After turning the ignition switch OFF, wait more than 10 seconds and then remove the negative cable of the battery. • The memories of the tripmeter and clock will be erased when you disconnect the battery. Reset the clock after reconnecting the battery. • Reinstall the removed parts on the motorcycle and make sure that the wires and harnesses are not pinched. Remove the motorcycle’s parts as shown. Attach the connector holder according to the dimension shown. 7. Mark the junction lead headset in the position shown. CAP Close. MARKER JUNCTION LEAD HEAD SET Align. CONNECTOR HOLDER 0 14 24 mm mm 26 0m m 32 5m m LEFT SADDLEBAG 8. Cut the cushion tape to the dimension as shown. CUSHION TAPE 30 mm 30 mm 15 mm 35 mm Not used. SCISSORS CONNECTOR HOLDER Remove the adhesive backing before attaching. ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL Thoroughly clean the area where the connector holder will be attached. 3 of 5 9. Secure the junction lead harness as shown. 10. Secure the junction lead harness as shown. CENTER REAR TOP COVER RIB CUT PIECE OF CUSHION TAPE (30 mm x 30 mm) Clean the attachment surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and attach after removing the adhesive backing. JUNCTION LEAD HARNESS MARK (325 mm) JUNCTION LEAD HEAD SET CENTER REAR TOP COVER Attach the cushion tape without it sticking out. Attach the cushion tape without it sticking out. JUNCTION LEAD HARNESS CUT PIECE OF CUSHION TAPE (15 mm x 35 mm) Clean the attachment surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and attach after removing the adhesive backing. CUT PIECE OF CUSHION TAPE (30 mm x 30 mm) MARK (260 mm) CENTER REAR TOP COVER Align with the cut out. 11. Install the center rear top cover in the reverse order of removal. • Confirm that any wire harness is not caught or too tight. 12. Route the junction lead headset as shown. CENTER REAR TOP COVER JUNCTION LEAD HARNESS JUNCTION LEAD HEADSET LEFT SADDLEBAG 4 of 5 13. Connect the junction lead headset as shown. 14. Secure the junction lead headset with the wire tie as shown. JUNCTION LEAD HEAD SET WIRE TIE Secure the junction lead harness at the marked point to the stay. CLAMP Loosen. HARNESS BOOT JUNCTION LEAD HEADSET JUNCTION LEAD HARNESS MARK (140 mm) CLAMP (Reuse) HARNESS Secure the BOOT harness boot. 15. Install the motorcycle’s parts in the reverse order of removal. • Confirm that any wire harness is not caught or too tight. 6-PIN CONNECTOR (White) 16. Secure the junction lead head set to the connector holder as shown. 6-PIN CONNECTOR (Red) JUNCTION LEAD HEADSET HARNESS BOOT Put connected 6-pin connector in the boot. CONNECTOR HOLDER 5 of 5
