The user interface is available in a large number of languages, selected on the handheld terminal.
Groundbreaking step
User friendly multi-touch screen
With the new GOLD version E, Swegon takes a groundbreaking step in the further development of the air handling unit, which for some time has been seen as standard in the industry.
The new handheld terminal, IQnavigator, features a multi-touch screen and is very simple and easy-to-use. Commissioning and settings are performed with an intuitive user interface, and informative help texts. Set and read values for component parts in GOLD are presented in a flow chart on the screen. On a specific log page it is possible to select one or more parameters to be read in a diagram with a timeline and a size axis. The parameters can be read in real time or as logged values.
Revolutionary control system The most striking new feature is the revolutionary control system, IQlogic. In addition to several smart and user friendly functions, significantly greater options are provided for communication and remote control through main control systems, laptops, tablets or mobile phones. Communication between a handheld terminal and the GOLD unit can occur wirelessly via WLAN. It is just as easy to use a computer, tablet or mobile phone via Wi-Fi.

Exceptional energy efficiency Energy-efficient fans of international calibre! Swegon’s fans are of the new generation of energy-efficient fans. The motors are of EC type and have been developed on a new platform that offers the best energy efficiency on the market. Swegon’s EC motors can achieve a peak efficiency of more than 90%. This is more than 10 percentage units better than traditional AC motors with frequency inverters and the difference becomes greater the more the speed of rotation is regulated to decelerate. Every improvement in motor efficiency can be directly translated into a reduction in operating costs. Several new fan sizes have been added for GOLD, which gives greater freedom to choose exactly the right unit size and fan variant to suit the needs of the installation.
Optimized heat recovery and cooling energy recovery Swegon’s rotary heat exchangers (GOLD RX/LP and COMPACT) offer unbeatable temperature efficiency, up to 85%. The rotary heat exchanger recovers cooling energy just as efficiently and version RECOsorptic also recovers moisture. This reduces the costs for cooling equipment.

However, in some applications, the airflow paths must be completely separate from one another. Such applications call for the use of a cross-flow plate heat exchanger (GOLD PX) or coil heat exchangers (GOLD CX/SD) as alternatives. Both have an effective freeze protection function that measures both the temperature and the humidity, which provides high efficiency. GOLD PX can be chosen with RECOfrost, a newly developed anti-frost system that takes energy efficiency for this type of heat exchanger to a completely new level. Cross-flow plate heat exchanger
Plug-and-play saves time and money Fast installation, limited space requirement and Plug-and-play type accessories connection mean low installation costs. Here are a few examples: • The air handling units are complete with direct-driven supply air and extract air fans, supply air and extract air filters, heat exchanger and built-in control equipment. • The air handling units have short installation length and are easy to handle at the building site. If needed, they can be simply split into sections for transport within the site. The cables between the sections have quick-fit connectors. • The air handling units take up little space and the fans are designed to manage sharp duct bends arranged directly from the unit without pressure losses. Several of the air handling units can also be ordered with top-mounted duct connection spigots. • Quick-fit connectors are used for connecting the hand-held micro terminal, supply air temperature sensor, air heater and communication. Other accessories and external functions are connected to an easily accessible row of wiring terminals. 4

Technical Description
General Points - GOLD The GOLD RX/PX/CX/LP one-piece units are complete air handling units with direct-driven supply air and extract air fans, supply air and extract air filters and heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is either a rotary heat exchanger (RX/LP), plate heat exchanger (PX) or coil heat exchangers (CX). The GOLD SD single-direction units are supply air/extract air handling units with one direct-driven supply air or extract air fan. Optional filters are available for all sizes. Coil heat exchangers and unmounted pipework packages can be selected for the size 12-120 units. The casing is composed of cover panels and inspection doors. The exterior colour of the GOLD RX/PX/CX/SD is beige (NCS S2005-Y30R) and that of the GOLD LP is white (NCS S0502-G).
GOLD RX
The GOLD has built-in control equipment that can be operated from the hand-held micro terminal with plain-text touch screen display or via communication. The electrical and control system is completely integrated into the air handling unit. The microprocessor-based equipment controls and regulates temperatures, airflows and other functions. A large number of functions are built into the system and are simple to activate. If additional functional sections such as dampers and air coolers are required, they can be installed in the ductwork (uninsulated duct accessories) or can be docked directly to the air handling unit (insulated duct accessories).
Application
GOLD PX
The GOLD units are designed for use in comfort ventilation applications. Depending on the variant selected, GOLD units can be utilised in buildings such as office buildings, schools, day nurseries, public buildings, shops, residential buildings, etc. GOLD units equipped with plate/coil heat exchanger (PX/CX) and separate supply air and extract air handling units (SD) can also be used for the ventilation of moderately humid buildings; however not where the humidity is continuously high, such as in indoor water parks. The separate GOLD supply air and extract air handling units (SD) are designed for applications in which the supply air and extract air flows need to be completely separated from one another or where, due to limited available space, separate units for supply air and/or extract air are needed.
GOLD CX
The GOLD RX/PX/CX/SD units can be installed outdoors and then must be equipped with the following accessories: roof, air intake section and exhaust air hood. The GOLD is designed and tested for temperatures, in the surroundings and the air stream, from -40°C to +40°C.
Certification Swegon AB has a certified Quality Assurance System that conforms to ISO 9001 Standard and a certified Environmental Management System to ISO 14001. The GOLD air handling system is also certificated by Eurovent. 12 sizes of GOLD RX for air flows up to 2.5 m3/s (9,000 m3/h) have also received Passive House certification.

Complements and accessories
Duct accessories, GOLD Duct accessories are available for a complete installation, such asdampers, air heaters for pre- and post- heating, air coolers, prefilters and sound attenuators. As alternatives, most of the duct accessories are provided for connection with full cross sectional area, i.e. Full face. This reduces pressure losses, which saves electric power supplied to the fans. The accessories for Full face are integrated into an insulated casing, which reduces the installation costs and facilitates installation outdoors. Examples of insulated duct accessories

Outdoor installation, GOLD The GOLD RX/PX/CX/SD units can be installed outdoors with the following accessories: roof, air intake section and exhaust air hood. The roof is supplied in kit form, complete with the necessary assembly parts and sealing strips. Visible parts are made of sheet steel, painted in a beige colour tone, NCS S2005Y30R. The COOL DX/COOL DX Top are internally fully wired, charged with refrigerant and the unit is trial run. The cooling unit can be docked to the GOLD or it can be installed as a stand-alone unit. Only one electric power supply and one communication cable (with quick-fit connector) between the COOL DX/COOL DX Top and the GOLD are required. All control is performed via GOLD.
GOLD RX Top
CELEST+ in version LE/HP is a highly efficient chiller for small installations and is available in six sizes up to 30 kW cooling capacity. It is possible to connect several chillers to the same GOLD unit and in doing so dimension the capacity from 9 kW and above. The speed regulated compressors are controlled exactly according to the cooling requirement via SMART Link DX.

Delivery The GOLD RX 70/80 units are supplied as two units. The one unit consists of the centre section with heat exchanger and the fan/filter section where the fan is located in the upper level. Delivery The GOLD RX 100/120 air handling units are delivered in five separate subunits: two fan sections, two filter sections and one heat exchanger section. The heat exchanger section can also be supplied split into two casing sections and rotor, in which case the rotor is supplied tilted in a transport cradle (transport height = 2930 mm). Right-hand version
A: The air handling unit is supplied in the right-hand version. The unit can be changed to the left-hand version at the building site by making a simple adjustment in the control equipment.
Installation Thanks to its low installation height, the GOLD LP can be installed in false ceiling voids, horizontally in an attic space or in other confined spaces. In order to save floor space, the GOLD LP can also be mounted by a wall (a floor stand is available as an accessory) as an alternative to a conventional unit arrangement. If the unit is mounted on a wall, the electric equipment cubicle must always be located upwards.

Technical Description
General Points - COMPACT The COMPACT units are a complete air handling units with directdriven supply air and extract air fans, supply air and extract air filters, and rotary heat exchanger. The exterior colour of the visible sheet metal surfaces is white, (NCS S0502-G). The COMPACT has built-in control equipment that can be operated from the hand-held micro terminal with plain-text display. The electrical and control system is completely integrated into the air handling unit. The microprocessor-based equipment controls and regulates temperatures, airflows and other functions. A large number of functions, including communication, are built into the system and are simple to activate. If supplementary functional sections such as dampers and air coolers are required, they must be installed in the ductwork.
Application The COMPACT Unit and COMPACT Top units are designed for comfort ventilation and can be used in small premises such as offices, schools, day nurseries, public premises, shops, residential buildings, etc.The space available in smaller buildings is usually restricted. The COMPACT Unit and COMPACT Top make a very compact installation possible. The COMPACT Unit AHUs have duct connection spigots on their end panels, the traditional way, whereas the COMPACT Top units have them at the top.
COMPACT Unit
The COMPACT Air and COMPACT Heat units are designed for comfort ventilation and can be used in classrooms, day nurseries, conference halls, smaller offices, workrooms, shops, restaurants and similar public premises. The COMPACT Air and COMPACT Heat can be installed directly in the room to be ventilated. COMPACT Heat operates in normal applications like COMPACT Air but it can also be used for heating the room with BOOSTER function. The COMPACT units should be installed indoors. The COMPACT units are designed and tested for ambient temperatures of from -25°C to +40°C, and air stream temperatures of from -40°C to +40°C.
